Good choice. I played a demo of it in a store once, and it was horrible, even among 3D Sonic games. However, I was eventually able to beat the level they had available without too much effort, which still puts it ahead of D.K. Jr for me, since D.K. Jr's gameplay is just as broken, and I can't even get close to beating the first level on that one.
I agree that Excitebike doesn't interest me much either, but it's not terrible.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

As for Halo and Call of Duty, if they were Nintendo exclusives, you'd be all over them.
The man speaks the truth here.
As for the worst game I've ever seen, it'd probably have to be Pit Fighter on the SNES, just because they somehow managed to make a terrible arcade game even worse.

I hated Call of Duty before it was cool to hate Call of Duty. 8)

i'd like to say Halo, but even though i still have nightmares about grey corridors, i've gotta admit that there are lots of even worse games out there. For now i say Monster Racer for the PSone. P.S. I'll never be able to understand why FFVII has so much hate today. That game was just magical.

...Noooo, because I hate FPS in general. To me, FPS's don't seem to require much skill. Just shoot anything in your way, and problem is solved. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what it seems like to me.
For those unaware (which means EVERYONE), this game is basically Portal only with no portals. Instead of making holes in walls, you have two gloves, one for attracting and one for repelling. You use these powers and other game mechanics to solve environmental puzzles. First off, the basic movement speed is completely ruined, with walking forward being much faster than sidestepping and similar to a racecar compared to going backwards. While you can rationalize that in real life walking backwards would obviously be slower than walking forward, I'm not going buy it when I'm already flinging around objects no matter their weight with magical blue gloves. The second thing that they get wrong is that throughout half of the game you're listening to a variant of Microsoft Sam or some voice actor who can't act good to save her life. The third problem is that about 1/3 rd of the way through the game they start to introduce turrets that shoot you on sight. The problem with these is that they can only be destroyed with explosives, and when an explosive gets close enough to a turret the turret won't shoot at it. It is possible to "Light The Fuse" of the explosive and then throw it at the turret, but the two problems of that are that the fuse is very short and most times the fire to start the fuse is in sight of the turret, meaning that you'll have to take a lot of damage and/or die because of that damage. There are also tons of other problems with the game and they degrade the experience even more. Thankfully I got the game in a package deal, meaning that I really only spent about $1 on it, but I still regret that dollar.
