I'm in the forest (the second dungeon). I have the grappling hook, the boomerang, and (of course) the Wind Waker and sail. I also have the compass and map. I'm clueless as to where to go.

The forbidden woods. It's been so long since I played it I've forgotten exactly what I last did. I have the boomerang and grappling hook. I don't have the bow yet.

Do you know what I do when in a situation like that? Start again. You're only on the second dungeon, plus I don't like splintering games with long breaks.

Or you could go to GameFaqs, and quite probably see something you wish you hadn't and spoil the dungeon for yourself. Goin' out, but when I'm back I'll look it up for you. it's raining, yuk

Try cutting down vines with your boomerang. If I were you. I'd go back to the start of the dungeon, and look up a decent FAQ to tell you what to do till you become independent.

In the giant room in the middle, there's a giant flower thing being held up by vines. You need to cut these vines with you boomerang. This will cause the flower to fall through the floor, opening the way you need to go to reach the boss.
It's not harder than that.

Thank you. Looks like I've already done the first flower. I have the boss key, and there's an enemy somewhere on the second floor.

Well turns out I'd battled the boss before, because the boss door was already unlocked and the boss was already there. I just defeated it and am now on my way northwest.
