Most people have already said this, but I should say it anyways. You can't really compare two things until they have both died. But if I had to choose, I would say Wii because quality always beats quantity in my opinion.

I own 6 of those Wii games, and 0 of those GC games. The only thing I use my GC for is the Gameboy Player.

Man, I loved Wave Race and 1080. I'd like to see those characters in future games.

@Orlick-You are comparing the Wii to the Gamecube? Now that's funny.
Yeah, the Gamecube obviously wins.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

gamecube barely had anything good which is why I am glad I had a ps2 instead. I also somewhat recently got a dreamcast. Those systems had the best games of last generation. I don't even bother with gamecube games despite the backward comparability, plus I hate the gamecube controller. The classic controller is much better.
The best stuff on gamecube is either on ps2 as well or has been re released with better controls on the wii
The gamecube was dark times for nintendo even nintendo employees admit. The system was behind xbox and ps2 and had nintendo almost fading into obscurity.
With that said I'm not too much into nintendo published games for the most part. Wii sports resort is fun and I wanna get metroid prime trilogy. Oh and some of the nintendo published wiware looks pretty unique.

From the list of GameCube games, I've played:Luigi's MansionPikminSuper Smash Bros. MeleeWave Race: Blue StormAnimal CrossingDisney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey MouseMario Party 4Metroid PrimeSuper Mario Sunshine1080° AvalancheF-Zero GXThe Legend of Zelda: Collector's EditionThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master QuestThe Legend of Zelda: The Wind WakerMario Kart: Double Dash‼Mario Party 5Pokémon ChannelWario WorldCustom RoboThe Legend of Zelda: Four Swords AdventuresMario Party 6Metroid Prime 2: EchoesPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year DoorPokémon ColosseumFinal Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
From the list of Wii games, I've played:Wii SportsExcite Truck (only a demo for a few minutes at Gamestop)Wii Sports Resort (again, only played the demo, but for about 30 minutes while waiting for a pre-ordered game to come in at Gamestop)The Legend of Zelda: Twilight PrincessSuper Paper MarioMetroid Prime 3: CorruptionFire Emblem: Radiant DawnSuper Mario GalaxySuper Smash Bros. BrawlMario Kart WiiWario Land: The Shake Dimension (its called "Shake It!" in the US)Animal Crossing: City FolkMetroid Prime: Trilogy
Even though I've played more games on the Gamecube then the Wii, about half those games are either average, to below average. Though, on the Wii, most of the games on that list are either good, to very good.

I sort of skipped the GC generation. I'd love to get into some of the old GC games my bro has though at some point.
I think I never really gave GC a fair chance, because I was angry that my bro sold the N64 for it. I loved me some N64.

Funnily enough I was just thinking about this today, and then I saw this thread. I like the Gamecube a lot better than the Wii. The big appeal of the Wii, to me, is the Virtual Console, while it's games have not been that great. Even though Opoona and No More Heroes are two of my favorite games EVER. Overall, I am disappointed with what the Wii has offered so far. The GCN was great because Nintendo put out a lot of solid games. They were so good, in fact, that Nintendo is putting some of them on the Wii with its NPC series. Rather than making new games, Nintendo is taking GCN games to put on the Wii. That's how good the GCN was.

Actually I would think its more a case that gamecube didn't do so well so they want to give some of the better games a chance to be played and bought that they didn't have on the less popular gamecube. Plus they control better with the wii controls.
