I love both my Wii and Gamecube. Only about 20% of my games are 1st party. I am in between. I love Galaxy more than Sunshine. I like Mario Kart Wii better than Double Dash. But the Gamecube was home to My favorite RPG Tales of Symphonia which is not a Nintendo made game (Namco). Too compare a system that had a full cycle and one thats had a partial life cycle brings up there is no bigger picture. There is no facts so its up to the individual really. As its going to matter based on individual opinions. As far as first party games this generation I own more than I did last generation.
I'm pretty soft on Nintendo's 1st party content, but it's safe to say that the only Gamecube game I own published by Nintendo is Chibi Robo! and I've got enough Nintendo-published titles on the Wii to outnumber all of my Gamecube games...
No offense, but I can't compare the two, not till the Wii's life cycle has ended. Then, I can make a judgement as to which was the best.
I compared them at similar points in their life cycle. So it is to this point.

I bought 25 games through the 4ish years of the Gamecube's life, versus having around 14 through the first (almost) three years of the Wii's life. Granted, that doesn't count this holiday season. But so far, I purchased more games in the same period for the GCN than the Wii. Not sure if anyone cares but, there ya have it.

@orlick I think you did make a good point. So many good games Nintendo has released the last 10 years. . I see where you are coming from. I just cannot decide so its a tie for me. Others will probably disagree with me.
I am not syaing either is better. It is just interesting to compare.....

Hard to say, I'm not a huge fan of either catalog. Both systems have a good Smash Brothers game, but only the Cube has the amazing Four Swords Adventures, not to mention both Pikmin games originated on the system. Sure, you could say the NPC games are on Wii, but if you were to count remakes, you might as well count VC and backwards-compatibility, in which case it's a non-question because Nintendo wouldn't have to do anything new at all. So comparing only new games... it's a tough call. But obviously I have pretty narrow tastes when it comes to 3D gaming.
New PLAy Control is not the same as Virtual console at all.
Some NPC have been modified for more than contorl for example.
VC the games appear as close as possible in their original state.

Where could you get such an impression when you just admited you do not read my posts?
Are you on a team? I do not post for attention I give my opinions in discussion and topics that interest me. Nothing more, nothing less.

@ Comment 12 I know they're different, but I'm just saying that I feel it is more appropriate to judge each console by original work. Yes, Nintendo did put some work in on the NPC titles, but most of it was already done for them in the GC era. I understand if some prefer these titled, and that's cool. I've honestly never tried them, but when Metroid Prime Trilogy is in the bargain bin one day, I'll probably pick that up. I hope they do a Pikmin Trilogy when Pikmin 3 is done, but not a year after so that I have to rebuy the same game.
I have bought zero NPC titles. I agree with your sentiment to a point Adam.

hmmm, lets see....regarding my personal tastes (i dont really care about most first party games)....the gamecube has smash bros melee, those amazing midway collections, the megaman collection and capcom vs snk 2 eo. the wii has SNK arcade classics, king of figthers collection, samurai shodown collection, metal slug collection, blastworks, geometry wars galexies, castle of shikigami 3, a slew of amazing light gun games and in the future tatsunko vs capcom. i say the wii's library is definitely sicker.

This show we all have our own tastes - your game list ironicly consists primarily of compilations from other systems!

@orlick and the games that arnt compilations are mostly just ports of stuff. im such a poser when it comes to nintendo lol. but for realzys, i would say the wii is better, i mean LIGHT GUN GAMES man...they rule...
