I didn't know there was a demand for a new Kid Icarus following Pit's inclusion in Brawl. I do know that after beating Uprising, I would like to see more Kid Icarus only to simply play as a lot of Uprising's cast. Outside of its characters, Uprising is pretty mediocre. I would have loved it if Pit somehow had been kicked out of the roster in Smash 4 in favor of Amazon Pandora, Arlon and Viridi. Kid Icarus is the one series where I don't care much for its main protagonist.
What kind of discussion are you trying to create here?
Q: Why do people like the Kid Icarus series? A: Because they enjoy the game.
That's where the discussion ends. It hits a dead end right then and there; there's nothing else to add.
If there's nothing to discuss, it isn't qualified to be made into a thread. Next time it would be best to state your opinions in this thread.
To be fair, we could discuss things like its story and game design. Despite the game being two years old and already discussed, I think that would be more fun than most of the non-game-specific threads lately, though it's not what's happening here and questions about those weren't raised in the OP.
I haven't played Myths and Monsters, but I like the original and I think Uprising is the best 3DS game besides OoT3D and Smash. It has my favourite characters in all gaming and its flashiness is fun and there's a lot of stuff to do. If I had to change one thing, I guess I would make Treasure Hunts more meaningful by them offering better, more interesting rewards (extra levels maybe). They're just kinda there, something more that can be marked as done if you already enjoyed the game. Since the main rewards left are weapons, I'm not very compelled to do them, particularly the more insane ones. I already have a ton of weapons and the fusion system confuses me, so those rewards feel useless. It's great to have those extra achievements if you're into the game, but there are so many and some are so difficult, I feel like there should be some better reward for finishing them all.
Because Uprising was awesome because it was a Nintendo game with actual voice acting and funny characters who were amazing.

People liked Pit's redesign in Brawl, or maybe planning for Uprising started way back during Brawl's development.

Never played Uprising but I don't know why, I like the Kid Icarus character. I don't even really like the NES game now despite being one of those big childhood games. (NES Metroid is far superior.) I would like to see what they could do with Pit on the Wii U though.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
Isn't it less that fans wanted a new Kid Icarus game, but Sakurai was a really big fan of the series hence Pits inclusion and then his next project being Uprising. Plus Pit's redesign was really cool and got you thinking about what a new game in the series would be like.
WAT!

Uprising has a lot of things people didn't really expect from Nintendo. Many of the chsracters are very elaborate and lively, just like their snarky remarks (really, snark is an accent in that game, and almost everyone has it), the fourth wall disintegrates after only a few chapters, the story has a few very interesting twists to it and gets surprisingly dark at times, and it even has some excessive fanservice just to drool over (Amazon Pandora ♥_♥).
The game itself is full of fast-paced action, tough combat, and a very compelling online scene (which is dying down by now).
Those are all things that make the game stand out as very fresh and almost rebellious for a Nintendo game. It's safe to say it's Sakurai's last good delivery.
