Well, most people regard Fatal Fury a SF II clone, while the game was released before SF II even came out.
The man behind the first Street Fighter, Takashi Nishiyama, perfected his work on the Neo Geo, while Capcom hijacked his work by even competing him. Even tough i like Street Fighter II, i prefer all of the SNK fighters over it.

Street Fighter 2 came out before Fatal Fury, sir - and by a significant number of months too. Also the design of Street Fighter 2 has more in common with Final Fight than the original Street Fighter - the only thing that was really retained from Takashi Nishiyama's original was VS fighting and Ryu/Ken's moves. Since it's an evolution of an existing Capcom game, was released before Fatal Fury and borrows much in design from Capcom's own Final Fight, I don't think it's fair to say it was "hijacked".

Aren't they both made by the same people though?

I wonder if the SNK Fighter devs moved back to Capcom?

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.
