Regardless of gameplay.

Final Fantasy VI is definitely a contender. Can anyone name a more detailed SNES game?

Bahamut Lagoon? Treasure Hunter G?

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Detailed? Super Mario Kart. Also Yoshi's Island is really nice.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

I absolutely love Yoshi's Island's and Super Mario Kart's Art Direction. Those are some of my favorite graphics in Video Games ever.

Well, I will just say an obvious choice and go with the Donkey Kong Country games, since ya know, they're all pre-rendered and what not. But I would also like to say Super Metroid. Never played it, but the graphics look gorgeous to me.

That's EPIC!!! like yarn and mice. <(.i_i.)> KIRBY

Chrono Trigger, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario RPG.

Super Mario World. Super Metroid is beautiful too.

Super Mario Kart? Super Mario World? The best the SNES has to offer? Fan favorites the games may be and they do have a timeless appeal to their graphics but I wouldn't say they were the absolute best.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

Yoshi's Island and the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, definitely.

I always thought The Tick looked beautiful. It looked just like the cartoon.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

PolarBeer

Illusion of Gaia? I really like the graphics.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a very silly place.

Chrono Trigger was insanely detailed. It's probably one of the top 5 best looking SNES games, if not the best.
Donkey Kong Country is obviously high up too.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

mastersworddude

Super Castlevania IV and Donkey Kong Country.

i always kind of wonderd if the fx chip could have pushed the donkey kong country games even further, regarding visuals.
i just think that the fx chip was seriously under used as a peice of hardware (if it can be called that) on the snes.
i also thought that rare did a decent port of killer instinct, considering the original arcade game ran on a beefed up version of the N64 hardware.
