The original, because you can't put your partners in front of you, and they are immobilized if they get hit. Also, because there is no counterattacking.
Just let it happen.

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
they were both difficult in their own ways, Paper Mario for the lack of health in partners, and The Thousand Year Door for some of the bosses (Gloomtail and the final boss especially tough. Never faced Bonetail) and pit of 100 trials, but you can always choose to ignore the trials although some of the Paper Mario Bosses were tough (FInal Boss 10 attack power! but still beat it first try)

Original is really easy, I have completed it 2 times and second time was 100%. Last boss is freaking-easy. Never played TTYD, but my friend had it and he told me that it's freaking-hard. (well, he isn't good Mario-player...) So, i can't say but i think TTYD is harder.
