Topic: Which Paper Mario is more harder? The Original or Thousand-Year Door?

I say Thousand-Year Door. Because the bosses, especially the Bonetail boss in the Pit of 100 Trials (SPOILERS!), is a lot harder. But that's only me.

Which one do you think is more harder? The original or The Thousand-Year Door?

Best thread ever.

Actually, i believe the correct phraseology is "harderer".

and i've got to say the first, myself.

Thousand Year Door by a long shot. The Pit of 100 Trials was the hardest kick to the nuts to being able to have %100 in that game.

Honestly, I'd say Paper Mario 1, mainly because it doesn't have the counter-attack feature in the sequel. I was able to tell when most of the enemies were going to hit and was able to counter-attack them more than half the time. The only enemy that gave me a lot of trouble in the sequel was the final boss (Almost busted a controller because of her!). Funny story, when I faced the final enemy in the 100 trials Pit for the first time, I was some how able to counter-attack most of his attacks and beat him without too much trouble, like I'd faced him before.

Original this i deem harder only because i find it very hard to block enemy attacks... it just doesnt seem to work... i also have not beaten it yet...

Thousandyeardoor I really like this game. played through it about 5 times now, beat everything 100%, Im very proud of myself

The battles are harder in The Thousand Year Door, but the stages themselves in the first game gave me a lot more trouble, minus a few spots here and there.

TTYD. The final boss is killer, and I've yet to beat the Pit of 100 Trials (I kinda lost interest after a while, though). The only part I ever had any difficulty with in the first game was the boss battle against Huff N Puff.

Oh, and the sewers were pretty nasty too. Pun intended.

thousand year door. pit of 100 trials was easy though but the part were you fight bowser after grodus with no healing was hard and the shadow queen has some powerful moves. the original wasnt too hard and super paper mario was like 3yr challenge.

Both had it's ops and down in terms of difficulty so it's a tie for me but Thousand Year Door is the best of the series.

I'd have to say the original:

1. No counterattack
2. No audience to fill your star meter; you instead have to "refresh"
3. Allies temporarily immobile upon first hit

Super Paper Mario was the easiest IMO.

The Thousand Year Door was harder in my opinion.

Thousand Year Door is longer, but at least allows you better strategy options. I only got stuck on a few bosses, viz. Cortez and the X-Naut leader 2.0. Otherwise, the bosses were doable. Meanwhile, the Paper Mario bosses are harder. I had trouble with the piranha plant and still can't beat the giant blooper.

TTYD hands down. I've beaten the original without dying, and I've died plenty of times in the sequel. I've never even beaten the sequel. The furtherest I remember getting is on some train.

Definitely the thosand-year door.

Cringing is really fun.

I guess TTYD would be harder simply because it's longer. They give you more features for a reason.
