Favorite:SNES (I missed out on SO MANY good games)
Least Favorite: Gamecube (even though I grew up with it, it's just comparing it to other Nintendo consoles makes it look lame)

Favorite: Super Nintendo - Easily my favorite library of games on any Nintendo platform. Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Link to The Past, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG...the list goes on. I love so many titles on the SNES, that I still play to this day.

Least Favorite: Gamecube - In my opinion, it had the weakest lineup of games. I still love the 'Cube, but as an old school Nintendo fan, I was dissapointed with the direction a lot of the franchises went. I didn't like Sunshine very much, I still haven't embraced the Metroid Prime series, etc. I did however really like some of the games. F-Zero GX remains my favorite game on the console. I also really liked Star Fox Assault and The Wind Waker.

Favorite: Gamecube. Why? Because it was the best quality hardcore Nintendo system.
Least Favorite: Wii. Way too casual. Yet,i enjoy the heck out of it.

The Wii is my favorite. It has a gamecube in it, which is another favorite of mine, as well as the VC and WiiWare. Although, if we're talking Wii and WiiWare games themeselves, then I might have to pick the Super Nintendo as my favorite, but my Wii may be a close second.

My least favorite is the N64... I loved the games I had, but I never felt like there were all that many INCREDIBLE games for it. it was too much of a learning system for developers creating 3D games.

Favorite: GameCube.
Least favorite: Wii.

There are many great games for the GC that I like, there are a few I bought recently and I'm far from finishing them all. The Game Boy Player is a great addition to play GBA games on, they are like SNES games and that console is another favorite of mine. The system has amazing durability and I like the handle on it to carry it.

Now the Wii. It may be able to play GC games, but it can't play them online that some of them have. The Game Boy Player can't be used on it, and it doesn't even have its own kind for the DS games (it can work with DS being the controller). The VC is nice, but if not for that, I would only barely touch the Wii. I can't find myself getting into the Wii games as much and get nauseous when I play them but maybe that's just me.

Favourite: Nintendo 64.
There's just so many reasons why this console is my top pick, and will remain my top pick forever.
1) It created 3D platformers
With Super Mario 64. Sure you could bring up Sonic 3D Blast, but when comparing the quality and innovation of the two, it's like Super Mario 64 is in a whole new genre. 2 years later you can add Banjo-Kazooie and Ocarina of Time, and in 2 more years, Banjo-Tooie and Conker's Bad Fur Day. N64 will always be king of 3D platformers.
2) It gave us the greatest game of all time, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Normally I don't say 'of all time' when it comes to claims like these, but it's been 13 years, and nothing has outranked it. Disagree all you want, but it IS the highest rated game, and is regarded as the pinnacle of gaming development more so than any other game.
3) 4-player Splitcreen
Mario Party, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, WWF No Mercy, how does it getter then this? Back then, it didn't. Consoles up to that point only ever had 2 ports (Unless you want to break out that 5200 with no games), and I think it's safe to say everyone has more then one friend over to play games at a time every now and then. No online experience can bring friends together like a good split-screen multiplayer session can. The trash talking, the taunting, the laughter, and sometimes the contact all brings a better level of excitement to the games because of the closer interaction that online can never emulate.
4) It proved that the PC isn't the only legitimate platform for shooters.
Remember DOOM on the SNES? With the red cartridge? How about Wolfenstein 3D on the SNES with rats instead of attack dogs? No? Good, I wish I was you right now because they were terrible. Then came a game that just about everybody has lost countless days of sleep for years after it's release, Goldeneye 007. For the first time, in 1997, a console FPS (from a technical standpoint) was better then any FPS on the PC, and it wasn't because the story was great, and well paced, or because of the huge arsenal of weapons and awesome gadgets, or the level of interactivity with the environment...It was because of the multiplayer experience with 3 of your buddies sitting right beside you.
Oh, and Goldeneye 007 was also the first FPS where you can claim "BOOM! [i]Headshot![i]"

The 3D platformers and shooters on the N64 have aged poorly. The GameCube and Wii do them quite a bit better (especially the Wii with shooters), and they have also have plenty of 4 player multiplayer games. Innovation doesn't always mean best.

Shooters? Depends. Goldeneye takes getting used to, but I was actually playing this again with my co-workers, and it was just like back in 1997. It was 4 dudes having a great time slapping each other (Heh) and looking out for proximity mines. Just because we're used to today's controls, doesn't mean it's aged poorly, it's just that we're out of practise.

As for the 3D platformers I mentioned, Super Mario Galaxy aside, I have not played or seen a better 3D platformer then Super Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie. The controls are responsive, animations are fluid and beautiful, plus the gameplay mechanics they introduced (Specifically Super Mario 64) are still the very foundations the entire genre is built upon.

Innovation alone isn't always best, but when in great volume, and paired with great game design, that formula is what puts games like Super Mario 64 and Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time above just about every other game.
I'd rather have a game with a great innovative idea, with poor gameplay, than a good game that does nothing for the industry.
Why? Because other developers will take that idea from the poor game, and build a good game from it and give the innovation the push it deserves.

also you would like a game that both has poor gameplay AND is dissappointing.

What was that? Well, all i'll say is i'm older than a N64. Besides the point, name one good system before Nintendo went "casual".

this is obviously a trick question (statement) as Nintendo specifically being casual never happened unless you're a nostalgiaf-

I'm assuming it's a trick statement as it being a completely serious statement would make my head hurt for like 5 different reasons.

First - Super Nintendo
Last - Gamecube

Don't get me wrong I think the Gamecube is a great system and horribly underrated. Metroid Prime alone should have sold the system, despite no multiplayer it is a better game than Halo. If I was a little younger I'd probably place the Gamecube higher on the list but to me it's the only system without the Nostalgia factor so it's impossible for me to place it above any other system other than the Wii (which has too many good games for that). I didn't get a Gamecube until 2009 and I had an Xbox and Xbox 360 before that. The Nintendo 64 clearly should be the worst system due to its tiny game library and many poorly done third party titles but in my opinion the platformers on that system still haven't been surpassed in greatness. The good games on the N64 were extremely top notch. Thanks mostly to RARE the N64 was a viable alternative to the Sony Playstation which I still ended up buying a couple years after the N64 mainly for Resident Evil 2, and a lot of the 2D games like Castlevania, Megaman etc.
