Topic: What's your favorite place to dig for retro treasure? AND what's your greatest find?

I myself frequent the crap outta eBay. I also like shopgoodwill.com, actual Goodwills, flea markets and yard sales. What about you other retro hunters?

EDIT: What's the greatest find you've ever found?

Yard sales are always good. One my last one I found a NES, 2 controllers, and Mario Bros+Duck Hunt, and Mario World 2 all together for only $10. He was at 15 but I offered 10 and he took it.

Nice snag! I think the best deal I've gotten so far was 20 dollars for a SNES w/ NBA Jam and 2 controllers. Not as good a deal as yours but eh, it was eBay.

There's a place near me called That's Entertainment. Not only are there secondhand games from all kinds of systems (anybody looking for a Neo Geo Pocket Color game?) but they've got figurines and other nifty game merchandise, too.

Oh, and they sell comics, and trading cards and yada yada yada...

I'm guessing this Level Up store is a physical business where you live. Lucky you, we had a nice game trade/repair center a while ago called GamerDoc but I worked at it, didn't get paid on time, complained, got fired and then the store shutdown. They needed me.

Also there's this one booth at our local flea market where this young dude has TONS of retro games and systems for sale but he's known as an "eBay seller" meaning he'd rather charge you eBay prices than flea market prices. He tried to charge me 15 bucks for a gold Zelda cart for the NES. I had to walk. He also didn't know his product very well. Didn't know if half his inventory worked or not. :/

We have used game store by where I live called Game King. Their games are fairly priced but their consoles are a bit high so I try to look other places.

Before anyone mentions it... JJGames sucks.

On every item page, they have a big red stamp that says "Cleaned and Guaranteed" I have never received something from them that didn't have hand residue, dirt, cobwebs, etc on it, around it or in it. They're good about refunding though. But so is Lukie Games.

Well I have a store near where I live called Fair Game that sells all consoles and games from First generation stuff to the current gen. (They are also an ebay seller). I also go to http://www.tradengames.com/productcart/pc/home.asp and order from them since they will ship to me but most of my purchases come from the Goodwill I work at.

Seriously though, brick and mortar stores that know anything about retro games are too expensive. I will occasionally check a second hand store but hardly have any luck (I am really particular about games) along with yard sales and flea markets. Ebay works the best for me.
