Topic: What was "World of Nintendo"? (Collector's item question)

This is probably a good place to ask this. I have a "World of Nintendo" stand-up sign that I was given when I bought a Street Fighter arcade cabinet from a collector in my area. The guy used to work at Nintendo of America HQ in Redmond, WA, and had gotten this sign from some internal event, but he was no longer interested in it and offered it to me as a bonus item.

I've found a few listings here and there for illuminated signs of this type, but this particular sign is not illuminated. Instead, it's embossed, and it has an oddly-shaped removable stand and a couple of small metal attachments presumably so you can hang it from the ceiling. It's in decent shape, though I wouldn't say it's in mint condition.

Does anyone here know what "World of Nintendo" was? I presume it was one of Nintendo's many promotional campaigns in the NES/SNES days. Around here, hardly anyone I've talked to knows anything about this sign, and I haven't been able to get any clear answers on what it might be worth, if anything. (A couple people have offered to give me $40 for it, but I suspect it may be worth a lot more than that. For comparison, the illuminated signs regularly go for between $100 and $300 on eBay.)

No pictures handy at the moment, but I could take some a bit later.
