My most recent one was Gunstar Heroes on PSN, only a couple weeks ago (at release). Neutopia 1 & 2 on VC were a month or two ago. Not all that much lately, I guess.

My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

I spent 10 minutes Windexing my SMB cart and re-beat it if that counts.

Outrunner

I'm almost through with Majora's Mask for about the 4th or 5th time.

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matt. 1:21.

Yeah I think those count definately lol. I consider anything N64 back Retro but that is my opinion. I love old school beat em ups so play thru some really old games with a friends son (he's 17) and most the games he had never seen and most were released before he was born so it was fun playing thru them with him.

Noire

I've beaten Sin and Punishment (for like the 20th time, I love that game so much), The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, and Star Fox 64 within the last couple of weeks.

I'm currently working my way through Shining Force II and loving it, so that will be my next one.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Dragon Warrior I and The Goonies 2 this past week.

@Phoenix Sage.....I have Shining Force, Shining Force 2 and Shining in the Darkness on the Sonic Ultimate Collection and Ive thinking about startin the series when I finish up the huge backlog of games Im working through. Are those game good? I also have the 4 Phantasy Stars and never played them. I wish I had time to just pound thru them all but sadly dont.

@slapshot82: If you're any fan of a good old-school strategy-RPG, then you can't go wrong with either Shining Force, though I prefer SFII. Never played Shining in the Darkness, however.

Most of the games I buy on the VC don't really have endings or if they do I'm just too rubbish to actually get to them. Bomberman '93 was the last; it took forever because the boss fights start to get pretty difficult (for me anyway).

Kirby's Adventure was the most recent. What a game, way ahead of it's time.

@Sean: Yeah I gave up on B93, boss fights weren't fun (I suck at Bomberman).

In the arcade Bomberman games (Bomberman, Bomberman World, Bomberman Neo) they were a lot easier. I think it took me dozens of attempts to beat the final boss in '93, but I never gave up!

Rygar for NES, in far less time than i remember it taking back in the day! Once you spend a bit of time grinding to boost your attack, the rest of the game is a cake-walk.
Also, Trojan for NES, though i barely count this one. I've played it for speed-running since mastering it back in the NES days; my average time is around 8-9 minutes. I hope to one day challenge the speed-run world record, which is 7min, 11 sec. I'm always finding new ways to shave a second or two, but i still have a ways to go!

She-Ra is awesome. If you believe otherwise, you are clearly wrong.
Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

Beat Super Metroid about a week ago, and I'm on the final boss in Megaman 2. I'm also working on my 2nd runthrough of SMRPG.
Say, I'm thinking of getting either Bomberman '94 (TG16), Ys Books 1 & 2 (TG16), or Phantasy Star IV (Genesis). Which one should I get? (I've never played a Phantasy Star game before)

I highly recomend the Ultimate Sonic Collection for any who dont have it especially if your reading this forum Its just packed with all kinds of Retro goodness.

@Pheonix Sage.....Ill have to play some of all of them for trophies on PS3 (wich is usually a LOT of fun because on some you play the games a little differently than you normally would) BUT I do think Im going to start with the Shining Force series first. I love the Breath of Fires series and I know some guys who say they like both of the series. I was a huge fan of RPGs on PSX.

I replayed Mega Man 3 just last week. So great in every way except for the occasional burst of slowdown (at least in its VC incarnation; I don't know about the original cartridge)--its level design, its music, and its weapons are all just about perfect. It practically hurts thinking that Capcom might have eventually made Powered Up versions of that game and Mega Man 2 if only the first Mega Man Powered Up had sold well. I'm not blaming anybody since the entire situation wasn't anyone's fault in particular, but just lamenting how things went.

I can't speak for Bomberman, but as for the others... Phantasy Star IV is one of the best RPGs I've played and I probably like it more than Ys, actually, but Ys is simply like nothing else and that's worth bringing up. I love finally having an answer to the question of what it would be like if, in games, enemies died from touching me. Ys I offers such a simple interface since you don't need to push buttons except when talking to people or opening the menu to switch items, and in Ys II the boss battles practically play out like a 2D space shooter because they make heavy use of a magic rod to shoot projectiles with.

If you like uniqueness, Ys definitely offers that, but if you're looking for a more traditional 16-bit turn-based RPG then PSIV might be where it's at.
