Topic Question: I will divide my answer into: 2d both Main, & Meta(Gameboy) series Sidescrollers: Super Mario Bros. 3(absolute favorite game of all time, & fav Mario title), then in 2cd place would be a tie between SMB/2JPN/World/World 2: Yoshi's island, then 3rd place the first 2 SM Land games on Gameboy. 3d games: Super Mario 3d Land(favorite 3d mario), Super Mario Galaxy(2cd favorite 3d Mario) Both 2d/3d spin-offs up to this point: Super Mario Kart, MK64, MK7, Mario Party 2/3, Paper Mario, & it's sequel The Thousand Year Door, Mario Paint. Edit: 1. After SMB3 as my absolute fav, I generally have no particular order for the other 2d games, save for me liking the Nes/SNes games more than the meta series on Gameboy. 2. The fav spin-offs of mine are also in no particular order If I was to try puttint in order my top 3 here: 1st Mario Paint 2cd Paper Mario 3rd MK64 3. And, you know, that incredibly hardcore robot, who had more personality than a certain disappointing blue hedgehog(who was actually fun to play as in that game ).
