What is the rarest Nintendo Retro console you own? It can be a color variation or any type of modification, as long as it is official.

The rarest Nintendo item I own actually isn't that rare, especially not in the UK (where I live), more of an uncommon collectors item. It's an NES-themed Gameboy SP. They are worth a bit more than normal SP variants but aren't NEARLY the most rare out there. What's your most rare?

Hey!
Just some guy with a Nintendo obsession. I own a GameCube, Wii, SNES, DSi, NES, N64, 3DS and a GBAsp.
I also LOVE Steven Universe.

Tasuki

I have a Maganvox Odyssey and a Black Sports Edition Sega Dreamcast. Not quite sure how rare those are, but I know that they are uncommon.

Not very rare, but um... GBA SP2, Famicom Disk System, top-loader NES.
I'm not completely sure what it is but I have an orange Game Boy Player. From what I've read it's a Japanese model (as I can only recall it being sold in the US in black), but then why does it have an FCC (US legal warnings) sticker on it?
Not so much into picking up consoles just for being rare (if I was, I'd probably have a Pikachu N64 I saw in a local store a few years ago).

Inkling64

Virtual Boy.

It does not work anymore and neither do my eyes but I still have the box in mint condition.

Perhaps I can sell it to help offset the cost of eye surgery later in life.

It would be my Nintendo 64 Special Pikachu edition. It still has all the cables and is in perfect condition, I got it at the end of the 64 era, so it never had to endure so much punishment.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Virtual Boy...
And I guess the Wonderswan is technically just as rare in terms of quanity, but you can easily get one online for $40.

CanisWolfred

Sega Saturn. It's got some neat games, but almost all of them are super expensive, or only playable in Japanese (and sometimes both!).

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

If we're not limiting it to Nintendo consoles anymore, I have a Final Fantasy edition WonderSwan Color, but I think it's beginning to fail.
(too bad, I only have a few games for it but I think it's a good set, with a couple rares)

Rarest one I have is the Halo Edition Original Xbox, it's all green and see through.

I have a pair of fully functioning Atari 7800 controllers. From what I hear that's pretty rare. 😎

A fully working GPH Wiz prototype. This was the handheld that GPH hoped would put them on the map after the GP2X. It has a gorgeous OLED screen which has rotted on most units, so a worker (and a prototype) is very rare, especially as not many units were actually made/shipped.

Front loading model 1 Neo Geo CD, only 25000 units produced apparently.

Now, I know it says 'Limited Edition' on the black/platinum Resi4 Cube box but I have no idea what the actual production numbers were. But it's rarer than a purple one anyway.....

@zitpig I also own a Wiz except mine isn't a prototype. The OLED screen is small but beautiful. I remember playing Cave Story on it when I first got it.

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.

@Vinny - Yeah, the Wiz is a lovely little machine I coded a number of games for it.

Would have been my import AGS 101 before I sold it and bought a gameboy player for my Gamecube. Not very rare, I know, but it was the rarest console I've owned.

Currently...probably my import cechao1
