I recently bought a cheap GBC and have no games for it and am trying to remember what the great games were on this portable. I'm a fan of pretty much every genre except sports. I love RPGs and classic side scrollers to name a couple types of games I like. Would anyone care to remind of me any features of the GBC as well? What I mean for example is are original GB games compatible with GBC? Thanks for your suggestions.

Original GB games are indeed compatible with the GBC, though their palettes will be limited just like they were on the Super Game Boy. If you've got a Super Game Boy, it'll run GBC games too (and some GBC games will have special palettes/frames available for use).
As for games, I think I only really played Pokemon and Zelda: Ages/Seasons on my GBC. the various incarnations of Pokemon were enough, lol... I had red, blue, yellow, and silver games all running at once at one point hahaha.

I've been able to hunt all these games down. Unfortunately, Shantae will take a lot of money to acquire. A lot of these other games though I used to own but am having to buy them again since I'm not more of a video game collector. Anyone here remember Warlocked? I bought that one again too.

Dragon Warrior III for GBC was the most impressive game on the console IMO...felt so much like a Super NES game...
That. Dragon Warrior III was a masterpiece.
My favourites are: Pokemon Gold (or Silver, or Crystal) Dragon Warrior III Dragon Warrior Monsters The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons Pokemon Blue (or Red, or Yellow...) Azure Dreams The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
And here are the games I haven't played but are probably awesome: Shantae Dragon Warrior I&II Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 (Cobi's Journey, or Tara's Adventure)
So far I've bought SMB DX, Magical Tetris Challenge, Metal Walker (Pokemon clone?), Mario Golf, Magi-Nation and Warlocked from ebay. I'll be catching up on more those as I've got bids on more games.

Dragon Warrior Monsters Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 Legend of Zelda DX (Link's Awakening for GBC)
Meta Walker is great fun. I wouldn't call it a Pokemon clone, as you don't collect monsters or robots in MW's case, but parts that you use to customize your walker into a couple dozen different forms. Combat is done in a turn based system where you bounce off of enemies to inflict damage. Its weird but fun. Kind of a weak story though.
Pocket Bomberman is fantastic as well. It's an interesting take on the Bomberman theme set up in a platforming/puzzle solving experience. And don't forget Wario Land 2 and Wario Land 3.
Thanks for clearing that up. I thought I read somewhere that Metal Walker was competing with Pokemon at the time in some way. I also found Bomberman Quest which is pretty decent. Reminds me of Zelda but with Bomberman instead.

Pocket Bomberman is pretty fun, but real short. Bomberman Quest is quite good though, it's a fair amount better than Pocket. The Bomberman Max games are apparently great, I have the Red version, I just haven't played it for more than 10 minutes, since I want to beat Oracle of Ages, before I actually focus on it.
It's got better graphics than the NES and GB versions of Bionic Commando. You can play as a male or female commando, and a couple levels differ depending, which makes it worth playing through twice. There's a glitch with the battery save that causes freezing sometimes, but if it happens you can start a new game, commit suicide for a Game Over, and then you'll be able to load your save game without the freeze happening.
Thanks for that. I placed a bid on it and Tetris DX. I hope it stands apart from the other Tetris's since I own Tetris DS and was thinking about getting Tetris Party.
