Topic: Voltage The GBA SP Uses?

Can it support a big spectrum of power which allows it to be used pretty much anywhere (a.k.a 100v-240v)? Or were voltage requirements different for every region? I ask because I plan on either ordering one from Germany or the U.K, and despite both countries' voltage levels being in the same range as mine, which is Portugal (U.K and Germany are both 240v, whereas here it's 220v) I still need to make absolutely sure. Cause, you know, it certainly won't be a cheap purchase.

I have an old SP, but there is no information regarding voltage requirements on the back of the system. I mean, it says something about 5.2v--1.6w? What's that about? Please excuse my ignorance.

Your better off buying a Europe one, rather than the a UK one. The UK uses plug type G, while most of Europe (in your case, Portugal), use C / F. Providing the UK Plug supports the AC Range of 220V (I have a DSi / 3DS Charger that supports AC Range 220-240V), you could use a UK to EU Plug Adapter. Helpful if you're going abroad.

Just buy this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Pin-EU-Plug-MAINS-AC-CHARGER-ADAP...

It is NTSC you need to purchase an converter. Big controversy over this stuff.

It's a portable so NTSC doesn't matter.
Hadn't Nintendo by that point moved to international power supplies (that is, the local AC adapter converts it to the proper rating)?
(like how I have a JP New 3DS but I can use my US original 3DS AC adapter just fine on it)

Most electroical stuff like cell phones, electronic handhelds, game consoles etc require a DC Input to power the device. This means the power cord lead is converteing the AC to the required DC Input. This means despite the device having different region settings, the Input Voltage required will be the same.

In my case, I am from the UK. So as long as I use the G Type Plug (convertes 230 AC to required DC Voltage), I could connect that plug to a Japan or USA device. I myself use a UK Power Cable for my Japanease Nintendo 64 and Japanease GameCube.

Other devices that use AC on the other, it is important you use the correct power cord. The Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast and JP/EU SNES all use AC. This means the device will be set up to accept around 120V AC or 230V AC. So using a UK Plug on a USA Sega Saturn is a bad idea, since you are supplying the incorrect AC. You would have to use a step-down converter to make sure the correct AC is being supplied.
