Has nobody missed out on the Dreamcast? I loved that machine. Owned at least 40 games and only remember there being a couple that weren't AWESOME! Jet Grind Radio? Power Stone? Ooga Booga? Toy Commander?
Everyone had these?
I haven't played any of them, nor do I really care. I have a Dreamcast, though, so I might get them someday. It does have a lot of good games, but the best were all ported, and the rest are too obscure for most to care.

Yeah, I missed out on the N64 era too. Catching up by mastering them.
Also, I wish I hadn't missed the Melee craze. I caught up with them a few years too late, unfortunately.
“The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.” - "Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them."
I honestly wish I'd gotten an N64. I would've had a lot more fun than with the PlayStation. I got one used a few years ago, and I love it. I also love the games I downloaded. The PS1 proved to be a disappointment.
In the past I've tried to own every available console (so I haven't missed much) but if I could do it again I'd skip buying the PSX. Final Fantasy 7 was better on the PC, Resident Evil 2 was on N64, and Metal Gear Solid would later be on the GameCube. Also I had to balance my PSX on it's side with a fan blowing on it or it would overheat. 32-bit was a dark time for video games. (Unfortunately I'd still need a Saturn to play Dragon Force.)
I do typically miss out on games released late in a system's shelf life because I've sold it for something better by then. Games like Phantasy Star 4, Snatcher, Paper Mario, and Ogre Battle 64. I actually only download VC games if I didn't finish them the first time around. It's a nice and easy way to catch up on the games you missed.
Wait, I thought the PlayStation was 64-bit.

Why all the PSX hate? It's one of my favourite consoles. Odd that you had an overheating problem, I've never heard of that before. Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Cross, Crash Team Racing, Chocobo Racing, Psychic Force 2, Suikoden 1 and 2, Breath of Fire 4, DDR, Grandia, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, Parasite Eve 1 and 2, Xenogears, Metal Gear Solid, Monster Rancher, Persona 2, Silent Hill, Tales of Eternia, Tekken 3, Legend of Dragoon, Vagrant Story... the list of awesome PSX games goes on and on. Personally I regard the late 90s-early 00s as one of the best eras in gaming.
I also had a N64 but I had no intention of getting a PS. The only game I played over at a friend's house was Digimon Rumble Arena. I still have no intentions to play any games either.
I wish I had bought more Gameboy games though since all I had was Pokemon Red, so I never go to play any of the Land games.
Edit: At above, I don't hate it's just not the type of games I am into. I don't like any single game you mentioned on your list. Besides maybe Monster Rancher but I never played it.

Do you have a DSi? You can download G&W games onto the DSi.

I feel like I missed out on Castlevania Bloodlines and Contra: Hard Corps, because I never got a Genesis. And I have no intention of getting a used Genesis, since there's the VC. So, it's a matter of waiting and hoping for those two on VC one of these decades! Oh, also feel like I missed out on NES Final Fantasy II & III, and SNES version of Final Fantasy V, but that's Square's fault for not bringing them to the US.
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

Final Fantasy II and V - You're not missing anything Final Fantasy III - That's a damn shame. You still got an NES.
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker: I know I can always get a second hand copy but new games keep cropping up that sap my supply of money. The Metroid Games: I have Corruption on the Wii but I never got into it. I desperately want to like them but I've never brought myself to get past the first or second boss in any Metroid game. Then again I've never played the 2D ones... Pikmin 1+2: Same as with the wind waker Donkey Kong Country
There are many more but I'm managing to slowly reduce the list. I missed out on anything before the GBA and Gamecube generation so there is a lot of catching up to do.
The Fire Emblem franchise - Though I have Shadow Dragon, I haven't played any others. And I hear they're great. Better than SD at least.
The PS2 library - I've played FFX and MGS2, some of the best on the console but nothing else yet. It could be that I don't have a PS2, but whatever n_n
It's not gonna happen. Get a PS2 and experience gaming heaven. That goes for the rest of you, too.
Is that because Sony is still selling PS2's? And gaming heaven, I think you're talking about the Nes, Snes and Wii muhaha. But nah, I kind of missed out on the PS2. I'd play it here and there at some of my friends house's but most of the games didn't exactly appeal to me. But it's definitly got some killer horror titles I'm interested in like the Silent Hill, Fatal Frame and RE Outbreak series. Then there's ICO, Shadow of the Collusus, Jack & Dexter ect ect.
