When I was very little, one of the many shows I watched was Tiny Toon Adventures, the pint-sized version of the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, which I also watched when I was little. While I was a "refugee" from Hurricane Rita in 2005, we went to my mom's friend's house. She had four kids, and one of those consoles was the SNES, and this game was one of them. It was very fun, and quite an amusing title as well. Of course, it wasn't until 3 3/4 years later when I got to play it once again; because we were only there for a week, and it's still just as good.

Konami made some of the best licensed titles back then, and this is no exception. In Buster Busts Loose!, you take control of Buster Bunny, the likeable young blue bunny from ACME Looniversity. The stages range from a school, to the Wild West, a train heist, a haunted mansion, a football game, a stage exclusive to the Normal and Challenge modes, and a special surprise in the end. I love the pastel toned graphics in this game; it's very awesome, and there's something I like about this type of graphic style [Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Secret of Mana, DoReMi Fantasy]. Maybe it's the fluid character animation, maybe it's the light tone in the background, maybe it's both. But either way, I happen to like Buster's animation (it's so detailed and fluid) andI also love his idle animations. Of course I cannot forget to mention the backgrounds: I like how light in tone they are, and they are also nifty details. For example, during the Spook Mansion stage, at one point there are trademark Tiny Toon characters on those stained glass windows; what's awesome is that some either disappear and/or get replaced with others. Sweet!! The other characters and enemies also have been animated quite perfectly for this game.
The music is one of the high points in the game, and I enjoyed every single track. The Spook Mansion themed reminded me of the Castlevania music (same company), and that's just epic. The Football theme really fits considering the exposition at that moment. There is even this one piece that sounds like something from John Williams, wonderfully composed. The controls are good and easy to pick up: if you feel like dashing (until the gauge turns from pink to yellow) you can press either the L or R shoulder buttons. You can also jump and attack enemies with your backflip attack (at least that's what it looks like to me). I like how these stages are laid out, and some of the challenge that was implemented in it is quite clever.
There are three difficulty modes; Children (easy), Normal, and Challenge (hard). Children mode is the shorter version of the two, because it's missing an entire stage and a few portions available in the latter two difficulty modes; Normal mode cranks it up a notch (by adding all those details I had just mentioned), and therre is some challenge. For example, during the train heist portion of stage two, there's a moment when you're expected to dash from a falling train compartment to a train compartment on the tracks while the tracks are slowly, slowly tearing apart gradually. That's intense challenge there, and it took me awhile before getting it done. Challenge mode, on the other hand, is overly challenging; if only because in that mode you start each stage with one heart. Meaning that unless you find the heart increase carrots two times, it's gonna be easy to lose a life; so it's best to be careful. After each stage, there's a minigame (which is chosen for you in the Wheel of Games) in which you get a chance to earn extra lives. One of them is a bingo game, another one is a "find your friend through a maze" type game, and the other three I'll leave a surprise.
If I had to make one complaint about the game, it's the password system. Granted, the game can be beaten without using a password; unfortunately the password only works for Children mode, meaning that Challenge mode is gonna take awhile to beat. Otherwise, this is a solid platformer, and it's got a few secrets which scores brownie points from me. One of my favorite licensed titles ever.

And, in case no one has heard of this game, here's a video showing a demo of it:

Putting up videos now eh? Well I say you should start doing that from now on, it helps people get a better idea of what the game is like along with your thoughts.

I should probably learn how to summarize some more. It's just there's so much to talk about, it's hard to leave out certain things. I don't know how people do it, but I'm sure it'll be easy. Even so, this is probably my longest thoughtbox I've yet made.
Yeah, Luigi78 recommended showing videos in my thoughtboxes just in case. I think it's a good idea.

I agree with both these points. If you're just going to talk about games and basically state nothing else, videos would be much appreciated.

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

Yeah, that would help too.

Even so, I'm amazed I got to talk about Streets of Rage 2 with no problem at all. Now I'm concerned as to how my thoughts on Streets of Rage 3 might turn out...

Here's an idea. Do a short paragraph outlining the gameplay and then do another fairly short paragraph of your thoughts. Make the second one longer just not really long. Just throwing that out there.

Okay, I'll try.
Regarding Buster Busts Loose!, the last stage is very epic because it parodies a certain famous movie we all know and love [hint, hint].

Not my favourite Konami game. Prefer the megadrive one.

Treasure helped make it though.

Yea, I remember playing this at a friends house and getting hooked. The mini-game wheel was awesome.

Boom.

Fuzzy

I remember playing this game when I was younger. Was great. But I only played it on easy, so I never got to play all of the levels.

I only played the megadrive version. I was young, but I definately remember enjoying it. I miss the old platformers like this, I wish they would come out on VC. Nice thoughtbox mate, it's always good to have a bit of nostalgia!

I love the different endings too. In easy, it's nothing special. But on hard, it's awesome.

My top favorite songs from this great game happens to be the ones that take place in Spook Mansion (seriously, it vaguely reminds me of Castlevania [but, hey, both games were done by the same company, ]) and Space Opera (the final stage).
@WesterHive - I also like the Mini-Game Wheel.

I actually have and beat this game on Hard. Which it undeniably was. The train part was the most challenging part for me.

I miss having a chatroom that was always in beta.

I really wish WB would release their classics on the VC. I want to play this and Animaniacs. Such wonderfully detailed games that stay true to their sources.

But the ending was very rewarding. I loved the endcredits.
