How long does one have to play Mario games to see Peach for the first time in it?

SMB2, obviously, shows her to you right from the start. But how about SMB1, SMB3, SMW, SM64? She is shown on screen at the start of Super Mario Sunshine as well (and probably all the core Mario games (and NSMB games as well) after that.)

Depends on the game, I guess? Off the top of my head, she's at the end of Super Mario Bros, and in the introductions for Super Mario World and 64. As the series has gone on, the newer games generally have a little introduction showing her getting kidnapped to kick off what little story there is.

I do have to say this is a bit of a weird thing to think about though.

Most modern games and remakes show her getting kidnapped at the start.

Yeah I don’t know either.

Eh! My gameplay videos

The original reason I began to think about this was about whether or not Rosalina was the first princess in Marioverse that I had seen in-game. Having thought about it for a while longer, I now remember that Peach made her appearance in the opening of SMG1 before Rosalina did, so she couldn't have been the first one. I had seen Peach also in Super Mario Sunshine (which I got only after I got a Wii). I had also briefly tried out SMB2 in the 90s and SMW, Super Mario Kart at a friend's place, so I had seen her in-game also before getting a Wii... I just hadn't remembered them. (And I still haven't finished any Mario game that came before Galaxy 1.)

Not Super Mario World, at least not the SNES version.

It's been a while since I played the SNES version. In that case, she's in the introduction for Super Mario World on GBA then.
