Man I was nine when this came out and it shows how much time has flown by. I remember not getting one of these as my parents only bought Nintendo and Sony consoles due to brand recongtion. I fondly think of how blown away I was playing Halo 1 all night as my cousins birthday party. This system also jump started the WRPG on console age with Morriwind and the bioware games. The biggest thing was when my cosuin showed me the custom soundtracks on GTA and online pay that blew me away.

I loved that little tank of a system. It may have just been a hodgepodge of PC parts for the most part but it was instrumental in dragging consoles out the dark ages for multiplayer. Good times....

Even today (the first) Halo looks incredibly detailed. Ninja Gaiden, Jet Set Radio Future, Jade Empire, KOTOR, Gun Valkyre, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Shenmue 2, Dead Or Alive Ultimate, .... Some of the most incredible titles ever were released on that system, and yes I bought all of 'em...and sold all of them to buy a Gamecube...
I never did own the original Xbox I was into PS2 and Gamecube at the time and didnt have the money for another system. Although I do have the 360 and I have to say its is a nice system. I cant say if I like it better than my Wii but it gets about as my play time as my Wii.

Was playing Fable yesterday. I really want to get into but Fable 2 has me conditioned to a certain style of gameplay. I might try out jade empire next.

Too bad they never made that Jet Set Radio game for the Wii, but yeah, maybe it would have sucked without Smile Bit developing it anyway. Rumor has it Jet Grind Radio is coming to XBLA.

I might have passed on it too, if it wasn't for the SEGA games on it. That's the reason I got one (or two), because it had all the SEGA games that were supposed to come out for the Dreamcast before that got squashed.
I'm pretty sure half of my experience with Xbox classic was playing the Halo games. We had no idea what overrated actually meant as we loved "overrated", we were idiots.
I'll be honest though, beyond Halos, Crimson Skies and a few others, there wasn't much great stuff on Xbox classic. It explains why 360 made sure to get lots of formerly Playstation exclusive stuff as 360 was much better.

Lol massive zit. I do consider the N64 retro but thats about as far back for now anyway I consider retro. The generation after N64 to now it just still too new to me to be called retro lol.
As for getting this massive zit out of here I dont think the mods (or anyone for that matter) can move this thread. No biggie. I just find it funny when people call stuff like the Gamecube and Xbox retro thats all.

I have my Xbox neatly packed away in its box as part of my video game collection to probably never be played again. The idea was cool to make your own in game soundtracks with your CD's. This system, or more specifically Halo, probably is the reason for more break-ups in the early part of the 21st century than anything else.
But seriously, like other have said before 10 years old is retro?

Technically Gamecube isnt even retro and shouldnt be in this section that too should be in other gameing. As I stated before anything N64 and earlier I consider retro. Something thats only 10 years and isnt really retro IMO.
But I dont want to derail this thread as to what is retro and what isnt. Thats what this thread is for
