I think that 3D Zelda games have become tiresome. The series needs to return to its roots.
How about a Link to the Past style game, but not like FSA? I'd love that, provided it's updated to an extent (slightly better visuals, etc). Maybe they can update the original game to 16-bit graphics and put it on WiiWare!

Or we could play the new game first, then decide what's tiresome.

I would love another 2D Zelda game, but I don't know if that will ever happen. Though, if Nintendo does decide to make one, I would like it if it looks like this:
....And on the 3DS! XD (think I'm getting 3D fever now, lol)

Wow, that looks very neat. I don't really care for the PH/ST look because of how zoomed in it is, and how it just seems a bit too bright for me (as did Windwaker), but this kind of overhead slightly impressionistic (that the right word? I'm not a painter) 3D I can get behind. Reminds me somewhat of Little King's Story, which also looks fantastic.
Well, IGN has an interesting interview with Aonuma up on their site now, and he does talk about the possibility of an overhead game when prompted by the interviewer. More importantly, he says that he's been thinking about reviving 4 Swords (which for me ranks way above remaking OoT).
IGN - So, I'm asking you Zelda questions basically. In Four Swords Adventures for example, people see that as a favorable game, but it was very limited in that you had to have several Game Boy Advance systems, and the GameCube, and bunch of Link Cables. Now that the technology allows for it, do you think that idea could come back? Maybe for the DS?
Aonuma: Absolutely. There's always the possibility of that coming back and taking center stage. Multi-play, online play -- I'm always think about how we could take that and re-envision it. It's in my mind a lot. I'm looking forward to the day when we can do that and present it to everyone. I don't have a plan or a definite timeline. But am I thinking about it? Absolutely.
IGN - I'm wondering if you've ever considered going back to the top-down, classic Zelda style from Nintendo's earliest consoles?
Aonuma: I hadn't thought about it personally, but now that you say that I think that if you took that top-down classic perspective and used, say, Nintendo 3DS you'd be adding new vertical depth. I think that would bring in a pretty interesting new element. I think there are lots of ideas there that we could play with.
