@Octane Okay.

I'm sad to see the GameCube thread come to an end, but was fun while it lasted, though.

I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!

I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

I adore the Gamecube. Even though my first handheld and console were Gameboy Color and PSone, respectively, it was the Gamecube that truly made me into a gamer during my adolescent years.

Best Gamecube game? I would argue that it is one of Paper Mario TTYD, Wind Waker, or Smash Bros. I tend to give the title of Paper Mario because, as of yet, it hasn't been bettered (YMMV with the other two, but at least they're receiving quality new entries!)

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.

@Woomy_NNYes Well it was the best Simpsons game to date.

As for best game? For me it still is Soul Calibur II. I just wish I could get a working Gamecube.

@Woomy_NNYes Simpsons Hit and Run is genuinely an underrated gem and arguably the best Simpsons game. I'd love to see it get a rerelease.

I'm currently playing the original Luigi's Mansion for the first time and...am I the only one to find it incredibly tedious? Especially finding boos. Everything feels so clunky and it feels like all I'm doing is sucking up against everything in sight. It's a shame because I see promise of a good game here.

@Tasuki What do you mean, about wishing you could get a working GameCube?
There's more than plenty of them for sale all over the web:

Speaking of which, alot of cube games are really expensive on Amazon , and that's just for used ones. The odd part is game stop is more competitive for cube games than Amazon

@ThanosReXXX every Gamecube I have bought never works. I have bought them from thrift stores, retro game stores, yardsales, online and they never want to read the discs. The GameCube just has one of the worst lasers of any disc based system.

@Tasuki That second shop I linked to, offers very decent warranty, and free returns, in case hardware doesn't work, so if you REALLY want to have another GameCube, then I'd say it's worth the risk, but of course, that's up to you. You mentioned wanting it, and I simply gave you an option.

On a side note: I bought my GameCube shortly after it launched over here, and it's still in mint condition as we speak. NEVER had a problem reading discs, so I can't relate to that particular problem.

But if you're up for it, you could also try to hunt down the necessary part(s) and fix any faulty GameCube that you still own by yourself.

@Tasuki By the way: have you ever considered that it's the game discs themselves, that are the problem?
If literally EVERY GameCube you've ever bought was unable to read them, I'd say that this is at least worth investigating.

Also, when buying retro or refurbished systems from a game store, I'd always advise people to have the shop keeper plug it in and give you a gameplay demo, to ensure that they've actually sold you a working console.

Eternal Darkness, Beyond Good & Evil, oh and the cel-shaded racing game. Those were wonderful.

@ThanosReXXX Yes! That game was fun. I also really enjoyed the first NFS Underground.
