That was so unsuccessful.

A few games I can think of that applies to this topic are Okami for Wii, and... yeah I can't think of anything.

Just for you.

Is there anyone here who actually appreciates the NES Ninja Turtles game? Many people criticize it as being hard, but I enjoy it simply because it's Ninja Turtles.

I do. For it's time it was pretty varied, from basic platform beat 'm up action to top-down action to swimming disabling bombs... Yes, it's quite a challenging game too.

Ta-DA! Another overlooked gem. As far as i know the Game Boy prequel was well-received by fans, the sequel however didn't get the attention it deserved in my opinion...

As for the original :

  • Graphics so real you'll forget it's only a game!
  • Advanced playability, highlighted with 360 degrees scrolling!

I am a fan of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for Gamecube. I don't think most people have even heard of this game.

That was actually fairly successful and well recieved. It wasn't a million-seller, but I still wouldn't say it belongs here.

I really hate to self-promote, but my friend and I have been working on a blog where we review games that fit this exact description. While we have done some games that were successful, our main goal is to focus on games that were primarily overlooked upon their initial release. Check it out if you get the time and let us know what you think.

If I could only pick one, I would probably have to go with either The Lost Vikings for the SNES or Rocket Knight Adventures for the Genesis.

The Lost Vikings is underrated? I love that game; it's one of my top personal favorites. I'm currently playing it right now (I'm in the Mechanical Era). I read Corbie's review on his SUPER-NES site prior to having played it, and it gave me a really good impression.
Also, I am glad to know that I am not the only person here on NintendoLife that likes Mr. Nutz. I've also read Corbie's review on his SUPER-NES site prior to having played it, and it also gave me a really good impression.
SNES Scooby-Doo is underrated, too.

An absolute stunner of a game. The Genesis/Megadrive version was also brilliant, unlike the tripe that was release a while ago for the 360.

Donald Duck: Quack Attack (Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers, if you will) {EU/NA}. I've only played the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 versions, but mostly the former. It's incredibly short, yes, but it's fun while it lasts. It's also probably the only game I can think of where the percentage could be complete at 112%. Although, the game received mixed reactions.

Ha, i forgot this one! It was to my knowledge unreleased in the US...

It's from the developers of Blue Shadow. Plays like Section Z, Burai Fighter and Lost Worlds. It even has a digital voice-over in it
