I ment which one do you prefer? :p

@Tasuki

Regarding RE6, ya...Another Big problem is that RE6 doesn't support move controls. I can't do dual analog/aiming anymore. it's just boring and clunky.
RE6's NextGen HD Graphics didn't do anything for me either. It felt like i was playing a crappy PS2 shooter with a new lick of paint. It doesn't matter how gorgeous, how realistic and grandos' a 3rd or first person based title is to me, if it's rocking an archaic, clunky, robotic and dated control scheme aka dual analog or even keyboard/mouse i wont bother. For me it just equals an artifical unintuitive boring experience everytime. People raved about Bioshock, but i got tired of it about an hour in. Metroid Prime 3 made me see the light. :p Wii pointer controls are just too bloody amazing, intuitive and immersive.

Here's hoping the rumored Resident EVil: Downfall for the 3DS starring Claire Redfield which takes place in between RE5 & RE6 sticks closer to the
traditional series or at least Revelations. Resident Evil, Castlevania and Silent Hill have gone down the count chocula crapper. SH has been outsourced to lousy western devs who just don't 'get it'. RE(aside from Rev') has sold out and turned into a hollywoodized Call of duty generic shooter and Castlevania
has also been outsourced and has transformed into God of war. sigh* Capcom and Konami have been sucking as of late indeed.

Whoa I am gone for a few hours and you guys go nuts.

@WaveyKruger: In my area all three Chocula, Frankenberry and BooBerry only come around Halloween time so for me at least I stock up every time this year. Maybe its a regional thing.

@Philip: Don't get me wrong DoS was a good game but I thought that they made too much of a deal with the touch screen and add way too many gimmicks to the game. The seals were interesting but the blocks come one enough was enough. I also thought that DoS was a bit too short and easy compared to Aria oh and the Jpop bubblegum graphics....... Yeah I wont go into that.

@WaveyKrugar: Yeah I probably wont even touch RE 6. And I agree too to the direction that older IPS are taking nowadays but I guess its keeping things new and fresh.

@Ryno: So thats where hes been. Damn no good two timer.

I'll only be touching RE6 again if it does in fact hit the Wii U, regardless if it stinks worse than Leather Face's Dirty socks and Underoo's., i have to play through it. After all I'm an RE nut job, so it's tradition. :p I'm dieing to find out what happens plot-wise and who's the big baddie antagonist. I'm willing to play through this boring romp just to see it all. I was also thinking of snaging RE: Damnation(the New CG RE movie) with RE6: U Edition whenever it's released.

But eh, I was having a real big problem trying to adjust back to analog aiming....It was just...So boring. It's the equivelent of playing a PS1 game with Next Gen HD visuals.

Tackled my first Halloween Retro Horror for the night, which was none other than Castle of Illusion! A simple little nostalgic treat with virtually no challenge. to speak of. Ah who am i kidding, i actually lost all of my continues and got a 'GameOver' :p Beat it on my 2nd playthrough. Pretty short, but that was expected. Overall it's a 'good' platformer, but nothing mind blowing. Now I'm taking on Contra: Hardcorps and it's kicking my mega butt to the count chocula curb and Bogus beyond. :o

I'm currently up against 'DeadEye Joe' in Stage 4 at the Jungle...The difficulty in this game is definitly a bit higher than Contra III's and the experience overall feels like Contra on Super Blast Processing Genesis-crack. Konami really went all out on this one. It's like they just tossed in a bunch of crazy & zany ideas in a blender and kicked it into overdrive. easily the most quirky and unique Contra in the series. I'm also really digging the slide, which makes the boss battles even more tactical and enjoyable!

Still, crazy difficulty aside....It still cant top Contra 4's. eek! I want to finish this baby up(If that's even possibe) so I can get on with Castlevania: Bloodlines Extremely excited for that one. I may even squeeze in Castlevania: The Adventure on the 3DS's VC. And that's it for traditional Castlevania i guess since i've beaten the rest. :p

Ya know,I've gotta say, I much prefer to play genesis titles on the Wii's VC. Reason being is because for one i just don't like the Genesis controller. the A,B,C buttons are too big and feel sloppy, and the feel of the controller overall is a tiny bit akaward where as the Classic controller(Or wii remote on it's side) feel absolutely RadTastic and fantastic, i totaly love the clicky tactical feeling face buttons and d-pad. Plus, you get 'component' PQ on the Wii so the picture looks sharper/clearer, you get better color and a brighter picture overall plus if your display supports it 'progressive scan'.

It's hilarious because i got a genesis during it's launch with Castle of Illusion and played dozens of other titles afterwards. But none of this familar nostalgia has created any sort of spark. I didn't exactly have a good time with the Genesis growing up, aside from maybe Castle of Illusion and Streets of Rage most of the experiences were rather....Depressing? :p The NES for me was absolutely magical as was the SNES, those gaming memories completely shatter anything Genesis related. The Genesis just didn't wow me or capture my interest. and the quality for the most part just wasn't there. It's like Satans 16-bit muffled sounding console released from the depths of hell. :p I'll be getting rid of it after i'm done with Bloodlines and will just be getting Genny games on the Wii's VC. I'd much rather replace it with an Atari 2600. :p

The only Trouble the original TransleVaniaCastlevania gives me is Death and Frakenstien. The rest is pretty doable, especially when you stack it up to it's big brother & mummy Lover CIII: Dracula's Curse. That makes the original C seem like a Punky Brewster Picnic. :o

that is true, and btw, you should get the 6 button genesis controller, its smaller and works great. speaking of retro halloween stuff, you guys remember franken stuff hot dogs with the chili in them? those were great.

Bah, my Genesis has taken it's last pixel breath. I don't wan't it. :p The only reason why i kept it was to experience Contra: Hard Corps and Castlevania: Bloodlines seeing as how the brain dead dweebs down at KonamiVille haven't mustered up the Cool Dudes courage to release them on the Wii's VC.
Now that i've beaten both which were both fantastic experiences, especially HardCorps, i'm going to sell the console, those two games and Castle of Illusion to one of my buds and put that cash towards a 3DS XL. :p

Untitled
Awesome Add no? B-)

Anyways, with the Mega Drive(Ya, mega drive me insane with it's muffled underwater voice SFX. Most of the time it comes of sounding like a shrieking robot burning in a grease fire.) out of the way. It's time to move on to....dun, dun, dun. to METROID on the NES. :D Metroid is a franchise that i'm completely Noobish to. Back in the late 80's, i tackled the original Metroid on the NES for maybe 20 or so minutes. Yet that brief experience has still stuck with me til this day, i was clueless on what to do(Map please?) which sadly ended my play time with it. Flash foward to Super Metroid's release on the SNES. I barely went hands on with it,..Instead i watched my friend play it and my god did it seem amazing. Really, I've only beaten Metroid Prime and Prime 3, so the original will be my 'real' first 'play it all the way' entry into the franchise.

I'm Pretty excited, since I've always passed on the big M growing up and now i feel like it's going to be another franchise i'll end up loving.

How many days/hours did it take you to complete it? I think i may extend Halloween just for this experience until i finish it. :p
It's my main Halloween gaming pick of the Ghostly litter and for good reason. I may of had a great time with Castle Of Illusion and Castlevania Bloodlines especially but the Mega Drive just doesn't have that whimsical magic and quality of the NES & SNES. Those games for me just don't leave the same lasting impression. Anyways, Time to Zeeb it up and Enter Metroid Muhahaha. But before i do i need to watch a couple of universal Monster Classics include the 1930(something) Dracula and Frankenstien. Those movies DEFINE Halloween for me.

Nah, the ultimate way to experience genesis games is with the Classic Controller on the Wii's VC. :p ;)
I had that 6 button controller back in the Genny days, but i don't remember too many titles making use of the extra buttons. It definitly felt better though!

Out of over 700 SEGA Genesis titles, only 63 of them utilize the 6-button controller. Thus for 91% of the Genesis' library, it doesn't make an isht whether you have the lame 6 button controller or not.
