First of all, we should all jam to this little song that's brimming with retro spookiness. :*

Also, this may not be retro enough for you 80s cats, I'm a young one, but I'll be playing this game for Halloween!

Luigi's Mansion was definitly a a nice little spooktastic experience otuside the Mushroom Kingdom! Easily my favorite Cube game of the bunch...or few. :p On another note, a more retro note. I'm going to try and squeeze in the original Metroid for the NES which i have on cart for this Halloween. Metroid 'fits' Halloween more than any other Nintendo franchise and it's been so long since i tackled(30 minute rental gaming session that is.lol But it still left quite an impact on me funny enough. Hell, I remember it like it was yesterday hehe) the original back in the late 80's, at the age of 5 actually. What can i say i was too young to appreciate a game such as this, which actually required you to back track without a map. I was clueless, had no patience and wanted to stomp on Goombas, Blast Robot Masters and TKO King Hippo. :p

Untitled
Anyways, first up before i start the Halooween decorating which is odd because i always get things set up at the very end of September, but i'm waiting for a few things in the mail to arrive and THEN the haunted Hellish Spooksters and Punky Brewster Ghouls will be summoned from the WaveWitch's kettle of KidNiki. B-) And my dip back into gaming will be in complete overdrive muhahaha. Bats and boogers aside, Current ScarOlicious and WherewolfVicious HalloweenRetro Lineup so far!. B-)

Castlevania: Bloodlines - The grand daddy of my Halloween selection!
Castle of Illusion
Metroid
Friday the 13th
Super Mario 3D Land
Pikmin 2
Rayman Origins
NSMB2

Ya i know, the 2nd half doesn't exactly screem Holloween, but the Wii U's hitting in not even 2 months and i seriously need to catch up in anticaption for NSMB U, Pikmin 3 and Rayman Legends. :p But before i dive into that list of smelly wretched goblins, i'm going to pull a Bill Rizer and groove into Contra Hardcorps Monster Mash style. :D

Very nice! Good thing we're passing on that silly Metroid NES 3DS VC release. Playing NES games on to go just doesn't feel right whatsoever. The impact, nostalgia and experience is completely dwindled down to a rotten phantom nugget. lol Will you be playing it on the actual NES late 80's style on a Tube TV(like me hehe) or are you downloading it off the Wii's VC? Either way it beats the pants off going the Lamo portable 3DS route.

Oh and Speaking of nuggets(Not that phantom variety. tisk tisk), this is possibly one of the most amazing MCDonalds retro Halloween commercials! :D

Oh....And here's a quick little clippette' from none other than Friday the 13th Part 2 B-) Ahhh, Vicky, easily one of the top cuties in the entire franchise.

Retro_on_theGhoul_School: Good luck with Resident Evil 2 this month! Like Wave Belmont said it's not one I am itching to play again.

I have yet to play RE 3: Nemesis though I downloaded on my PS3 awhile ago. I should give that shot but I really want to tackle Dracula X for the SNES this season. Plus, I have a couple of Wii games I want to finish before the Wii U comes out. Aaahh!!! Real Monsters there is not enough time!

Nope, not a picture from my pad. It's from Dinosaur Dracula which is basically the New X-E, which is a site dedicated to nostalgic merchandise. You should totaly check it out! I've been following the original X-Entertainment for years now. Plus, The Halloween countdown has been kickin' Karate Kid style for quite a while now. B-)

http://dinosaurdracula.com/

That aside, what makes RE3: Nemesis so special is that it mostly takes place outside of Racoon City(Big suprise!), which is just incredible, and there is a lot of variety in zombies this time around and different ways to upgrade your weapons. There are even FAT zombies, which must of came from Racoon City's local rottenCrispy Cream. RE3 is a fresh of breath air after being confined indoors to a mansion and a police station. The Nemesis will have your heart pumpin faster than The Golden Girls on life support! It's my 2nd favorite RE and for good reason. But knowing you, Castlevania comes first. So light some FrankenCandles and get on that Drac X! :p

And speaking about not enough time. :p I know how you feel, I'm trying to cram Super Mario 3D Land, NSMB2, Rayman Origins, Pikmin 2, along with these wonderful and Mondo Gekko ghoulish Nasties for this upcomming halloween > Bloodlines, Castle of Illusion, Contra Hardcorps and Metroid in before Nov 18....I've really been slacking off this year as far as console gaming goes. Basically all of my attention has been with the 3DS's GameBoy Virtual console, and playing actual Gameboy games on my GBA. It's so unlike me, considering i prefer console gaming miles more than portable. I need to snap out of it and embrace my master of the Universe mullet and let the good Retro times roll....Starting with Contra Hardcorps. B-) :p

Now i'll leave everyone with a random X-E 'Trash Bag Bunch'(From Galoob 91') Halloween Countdown video
Start it at 1:15!

And I think it's about time my Avy' got a little Halloween Revamp. Splash Women needs to get into the Halloween spirit. Durp! Awesomeness aside, My Genesis is all set up, Halloween decorations will be done by tomorrow, and my ritual grave yard Zombie Summoning will be in full force ShadowGate style. B-) and with it i shall take on the Mickey Mouse Mega Drive Classic Castle of Illusion. It's been YEARS since i last played it...Can't Wait! :D

With that Witchery' out of the way. Here's an unforgettable and incredibly memorable Classic episode of 'Ghostbusters! It was thee' episode that had the kiddies scared out of their mummy minds ....'The Boogieman Cometh'...muhahahaha Enjoy!

@Tasuki
So how's RE: Revelations holding up for you? Don't let those heavy action based mindless shoot out episodes get to ya, because if you can overlook that cheap filler there's definitly a solid RE experience to be had. The Final portion of the game including the last boss is possibly one oft he most amazing bits in RE history. B-) I'd love to see it get a WiiUMake, with pointer controls & on the big screen!

@Wavester: I am lovin it. Honestly its been years since I have enjoyed a RE game this much. Its nice to see RE went back to the basics that made the RE series so great. Also I have been getting my Drac attack on too by playing Portrait of Ruin, which I have to say is the best DS Castlevania game out there.

Good to hear you're enjoying Revelations. B-) It's GOD in comparison to that lousy snore fest RE6. I finally got a chance to play the demo and i was utterly dissapointed....The Controls are just awful. The graphics aren't that impressive and the game basically holds you by the hand and tells you where
to go. It doesn't feel like Resident Evil At all. It feels like a western developer's take on the franchise and it ends up feeling like a generic typical 3rd person Call of duty/ gears of war-like wannabee.

I hate how you can move freely with the analog stick...The tank controls were fantastic in Revelations for ex, but here the change(even switched to classic controls) is completely sloppy and confusing. Getting the camera right is another big annoyance. I won't be playing this train wreck anytime soon, if it ends up on the wii U i'll check it out. But based on the demo, i'm severely dissapointed. Even the enemy animations and zombies(A lot of them wore ghetto hoodies.lol) themselves seemed a bit off... I'm really starting to appreciate RE4 a lot more at this point... RE mastermind S.Mikami's art direction, level structure, gameplay and ideas make RE5 and especially RE6's feel 2nd rate in comparison. RE1, 2, 3, Remake and 4 are easily the best in the franchise! The rest can boil in the bottom of my Witch Kettle of Kid Nikki-ness! :p

I'm playing the GB version of Castlevania: The Adventure. For a while I was thinking, hey, this isn't so bad. Then I got to level 3, and it's easily among the worst things I've ever played. TRICK OR TREAT

@Wavester: Totally agree with you man. Its been a long time since a RE game grab my attention like RER did. I was a huge fan of the first and second one and while the fourth one was good especially on the Wii with the Wii controls, it just didnt capture the magic that the first two did. RER is a huge step in that direction kinda sucks that RE6 didnt keep going in that direction but I figured as much.

@Philip: Yeah I remember playing that game back in the days in the back seat of the family car going to Disneyland, and you pretty much summed it up Trick or treat lol.

I saw you're doing PoR...I missed that when I posted! I'm also playing that for the first time. I'm on a bit of a CV kick. So far I like DoS better, but honestly that might just be due to the awesome Julius mode. I can't imagine this one having an equivalent, but we'll see. Overall no real complaints!
