Basically, what video game series do you remember the most? The generation you grew up on?

The first system I had was the NES, and I'm heavily attached to 16-bit games. However, I remember when 3D (i.e. 64-bit) was all the rage. I had a Playstation and remember my mom looking at Gran Turismo and asking "Is that real?". I've almost dismissed the 128-bit generation as just an improvement on the 64-bit generation. Somewhat more complex controls, notably better graphics, but otherwise nothing else notable. Wind Waker is graphically inferior to OoT.

Although I began my gaming career on Odyssey 400 Pong and Atari 2600, the 16-bit era will always be my favorite time. Having just graduated from high school, it was a good time in my life, not to mention a hell of an era in gaming.

Plain old gamer :)

Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

I personally think the 16-bit age was the best. The foundations of modern gaming were laid in the 80's, but in the 16-bit age gaming was perfected.

Are you on drugs? 0.o

I was too busy playing outside during the 8 and 16 bit eras to really appreciate them. My two favourite times in gaming were 64bit and the mighty 486.

Yeah the 486 age of PC gaming was awesome. It is where my appreciaiton of games started. I remember playing classic DOS games such as Commander Keen and Stunts! Good times, good times. I remember when my parents first bought a PC. A mighty 468DX with 4 MB RAM. There were also 8MB PC's but who needed that much?

It's not. Wind Waker is actually graphically superior to OoT. Starfox probably doesn't like the style of WW

Back on-topic: I grew up in the 8-bit and 16-bit generations. I had a Game Boy and a Super Nintendo (my bro owned an NES which died)

I'd have to say the first generation. Nothing quite like leaving your mom at ten years of age with a fire lizard in your pocket to go roaming around the countryside while gangsters try to kill you. It's so very much like my story. :3

...Oh wait, this wasn't a Pokémon question.

Whoops.

16-bit, mah peeps, it's what i grew up on

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

I think we can both agree that the plant frog thing is not the way to go, though. :3

I got my sea legs on the Atari but my favorite era was the golden age of 16-bit RPGs. Coincidentally, this was also the same time as the golden age in PC point and Click adventures. What an era! I get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it.

Wind Waker is too toony for my tastes.

In the first generation of Pokemon, I always chose the fire lizard. It's handy, since you can't get any more fire pokemon until the island.

I think I liked the 64 bit era best, but that is possibly just because the first system I ever owned was an N64.

I'm mostly attached to my N64, Gamecube and DS so it's hard for me to pinpoint the exact Generation i relate to but i did grew up in the 5th Generation.
