SEGA!

Anyways! Castle of Illusion is a great little magical gemmy' that i'll never forget(hell i bought it on cart 2 months ago in anticipation for Power of Illusion for the 3DS) when i got with my Genesis Model 1 in the early 90's. Yet I couldn't stand sonic(I payed over $100 for that sloppy boring annoying crap that completely P-A-L-E-D in comparison to the mind blowing Super Mario World), but Castle of Illusion was pretty fantastic. But there's no way in VideoLand it can compete with the surreal and amazingly atompsheric Super Castlevania IV. I don't think any Genesis game can! ......Maybe Bloodlines? Hehe obvious choice is obvious! I'll see for myself this Halloween october when i get it on cart.

Which Sonic? 1, 2, or 3?

Ever wonder why SNES hasn't had another game uploaded to the VC? Nintendo has run out of good games for it. Sorry folks that is all

@Wave-0-Rama All just a bit of old school shenanigans mate I owned both consoles and realize the greatness that was the epic 16-bit era and the whole 2-way street deal as far as software is concerned while owning a C64 & Amiga500 and pretty much everything under the sun around those times

You obviously didn't touch the almighty mega 6-button awesomeness with the D-pad that had all the diagonal points which made games with street fighter moves more bearable to pull-off with less blisterific thumb invasions of the exploding kind

I've only received a quarter of my Megadrivian collection via VC and some I didn't even know existed before but there's a big hole in what VC has to offer... Where are all the great EA & Disney gems, what about the sweet as movie licences Robocop & Terminator how bout Outlander & Chakan I hope the WiiU can bring me my epic VC dreams

@MickeyTheMegaSonic 1 of course. I also bought 2 later on which I wasn't crazy over either. I remember renting 3, and while i have shadeymemories of playing it I found that it was easily the best of the 3. Rocket Knight Adventures however beats the Streets and rageall over the 3 sonic games imo.

Sonic 1 I can understand, since it's basically a Mario clone, minus the naunces that made the early Mario games good. Sonic 2, though, was great, especially the level design. I love games that have tons of multiple paths, and Sonic 2 has 3 or more in every level. Sure, they all take you to the same end, but it still makes the experience more interesting for multiple playthroughs. Really, the levels in Sonic 2 are perfect in every way. Sonic 3's a greater game still, but I felt its levels weren't well-made as in 2.

Ever wonder why the physical copies of SNES games go for more $ than Genesis games? The quality of Genesis games are not as good. Sorry folks that may not be all.

Lol So true there Ryno. So than why is it that Genesis games haven't been added to the VC lately? The last SNES game to be added to the VC was in June while the last Genesis game to be added was in May. Score one more for SNES .

I'm still waiting for my 16-Bit Mario Paint: Wii Edition. StarFox and Yoshi's Island obviously seem to be the only other 2 unreleases Nintendo SNES VC offerings. As for Disney and movie liscenced games hitting the VC? Ya...That will never happen, unless we're living in a world full of Neon mullets and clouds made of cotton candy.

i was around 10, 11-ish when the sega/nintendo 16 bit wars took place. the rivalry was heated at times but back then we had characters in the likes of mario and sonic to compare to and games to contest with. rather than state-of-the art graphics.

and the likes of capcom, sega, konami had great games out too, unlike today.

Though I was born in 1996 and could have easily slipped into a "non-nintendo" personality, i'm thankful I didn't, in fact, I actually grew up with a Game Boy in 2005 (yeah), then a Game Boy Advance, and then a DS Lite, until I got an Xbox in 2009, I played games like Grand Theft Auto IV or Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for awhile (though I do like to play more of Collection), but then got a Wii in 2010, then a 3DS in 2011. While I do revisit my Xbox 360 sometimes, (Banjo-Kazooie ftw), I still liked Nintendo since they seem to have many genres to interact well with.

I too was born 1996 and grew up with the gamecube and gba. But now a days I have to say snes. Better hard ware and games. Today im in a tough knot between sony and nintendo. Sony is kinda better but then I remember my childhood.

@Wavinator The Genny had a better processor for more advanced animations and larger sprite handling and it also had a more vast colour palette over the SNES if my memory serves me correctomondo.

I love the genesis but the SNES did have bigger color palette. Genesis did had a much faster processor though.
