I was just playing it, and just noticed how different it is from previous Mario games. There are various unlockable stages and alternate paths. Really, I'm actually considering that it's superior to SMB3 because it gives you more to do.

Super Mario Advance 4, however, does improve on SMB3 through its use of saving (however the larger item bin and the e-Reader function are annoying). Super Mario World Advance, by comparison, makes few notable changes save for the voices and the Mario/Luigi alternation.
Super Mario World is a good game, but it's available on the VC and GBA. But, I'm not gonna argue, finding those ninety-six exits was a fantastic experience. It probably has the best accordian music ever heard in video games during the end sequence. If people say it's bad, I'm not gonna argue, 'cause I respect others' opinions.
