on a technicality, super mario world is known as super mario 4 in japan (as you all probably know anyway). but still, that`s quite a good bit of fan work there on the level designs, even if they`re cut and shut from the mario all stars and mario world games.
Haven't followed the rom hacking scene in ages, but I see little reason to bother with this hack. Boring, incredibly commonplace ripped graphics, uninteresting level design, a bunch of random features that do nothing interesting that this guy most definitely didn't come up with himself, and not a single interesting idea in sight.
Yeah, I've seen the hack before but have never tried it. Mostly because I could care much less for hacks of old games that nobody plays anymore.

It comes with its new power-ups and a couple new Yoshi's (ice one for example), and the raccoon suit is tweaked to allow the statue to slide from the running. The split-screen shows up when needed, and when one goes in a pipe, the other player can stay out and do his/her own thing in the split screen (NSMB Wii forces you to go with the piped player). Some cameos are a nice touch too. This is deserving to be seen as a new standalone game. I'd go so far as to say that it puts NSMB Wii to shame. Seriously, watch the whole video warioswoods posted.
Did you try it out? I haven't done so myself yet, ha, mainly because I'm guessing that it's a PC program and I'm a Mac user, so I'd have to reboot into Windows or use Crossover to run it, and I've been too lazy to bother with it just yet. However, I keep meaning to get around to finally trying it myself.
