Just played it for the first time in maybe years, and I still love it. Many people complain about the controls, but I don't think that's any reason to hate the game. I also think the on-foot tasks add to the adventure. I've found all the levels to be challenging and nicely varied.

Do any of you agree? It's very different from Star Fox 64, but still a great game.

funny you should mention that, because I just played it a few days ago for the first time in months. I also thought it was a pretty good game. The on-foot missions aren't very polished, and do tend to distract from the action a bit, but they're still fun, and the flying is just as fun as ever. My only gripe is the voice acting. It's pretty decent, but they completely changed the voices established in SF64.

I didn't like the on-foot missions and I preferred all the All-range Arwing stages. Mission 8 = BEST MISSION EVER!!!

I love this game. I liked all the aspects of it and hope they make a sequel. Maybe with online?

Star Fox Assault doesn't get enough love. It was a bit lacking in the replay department, yes, and it didn't have enough on-rails levels, but what was there was really freakin' good. I like it almost as much Star Fox 64.

The Multi-player was pretty fun.

It barely had any Flying in it.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Oh I was so disappointed by it. The first stage is fantastic - traditional Star Fox with great graphics - after that it's just on foot and "all range" flying levels. I think there's just two normal Star Fox style levels and like a dozen of the rest, which I wasn't happy about.

When I buy a Star Fox game I'm kind of expecting it to play like a Star Fox game - not just a couple of levels.

Adventures was originally an unrelated game known as Dinosaur Planet, to be released to the N64. Somehow, they decided to add the Star Fox team to the game. But, hey, we got Krystal.

This game was really disappointing for me. I liked Adventures, but it wasn't a real SF game, so I was hoping the series was going to get back on track. Nope! Mostly boring (from what I remember) on foot missions with iffy controls. The only missions I liked were the Arwing levels but there were like, three of them.

Multiplayer was fun though.

Dualstick mode makes it play like Halo.

Yeah, I don't even know how I was able to handle the single stick mode before. It's so slow and clumbsy. Plays like a dream with the dual stick mode, though. I still don't understand why it wasn't the default.

I'm of the small group who thought that Star Fox Adventures was a great game. I guess if you go into it thinking it's going to be a shmup, you might be disappointed, but I just read the name and figured out it was an adventure game. Or you can read the back of the box

Really good game. A tad repetitive, but a step above 64, in my opinion. And multiplayer is a blast.

Mission 1, 5, 8 and 10 were the best levels by far. But the good things about the on-foot mission were when you were Arwing riding. I wish there was a on-rails Landmaster level, and I want the sub to come back.

Despised Star Fox Adventures and strongly disliked Star Fox Assault. Nintendo doesn't have a f***ing clue what to do with this franchise, and it shows.

I'm with you here. It was a great game. Not the usual SF fare of course but that didn't make it any less enjoyable as an adventure game.

Also agreed. I'll admit, as a Star Fox fan, I was pretty disappointed in how poorly the SF themes were slapped on, but it was a fun game all the same. Granted I'm an adventure-loving fanatic, so no amount of disappointment was going to keep me from enjoying it.

I thought of an awesome story for the next game...
I'll say it only upon request.

the music in Star Fox Assault was fantastic, and the multi-player was superior to Star Fox 64's.
