I just got Soul Calibur II along with is Klonoa at gamestop 2 days ago (I traded in 4 games). I thinki SCII Is an awesome fighting game, and it comes in 3rd place (after Brawl (1st) and Melee (2nd)). My best character is Raphael. Have you owned or played it? If so, what is your opinion on it, and who is your best character?
Talim is by far the best. I never played Soul Calibur, but I got Soul Calibur II just because of Link. As it turns out, I hate Link in that game, and he doesn't belong at all. Luckily, the game is really good without Link.
Yup, I own it. It's my favorite traditional fighter from last generation (this way, Melee doesn't count). Before I used Talim all the time and killed with her, but playing with one character too much bores me, so now I use Cassandra quite a bit.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I don't know what it was about Link. Maybe it was just the character model they used, and his move set, but he just doesn't belong in that game. Phoenix Sage, I think you and I are a lot alike. I seem to like all the female characters in games the best.

Yup, I'm exactly that way. Sometimes it's for no good reason, either. I don't know, they've just always appealed to me more. Maybe it's just more fun to beat somebody up as a girl. shrug

I mostly play as Nightmare. For a slow character he's got some good combos. (Horizontal, horizontal, delayed vertical or my personal fave horizontal, horizontal, vertical launch, vertical smackdown finishing with his powerful flaming smash - i've sussed out several variations)
As for other characters, I play as Astaroth (great reach), Seung Mina (her holy halberd is almighty), Raphael (a good for jabbing at people). I avoid light characters like Xianghua and Talim.
I never really liked that game, but it was hilarious beating my friend at it when I had no idea what I was doing:
Owns friend at Melee for the 100th time Friend:"You know, I wanna play something else." Me:"Ok, what?" Friend:"SC2 because I'm a freaking beast with Nightmare."
Turns out he knew pretty much every combo by heart, and I was able to beat him with the staff guy by just mashing buttons. That was a fun day.

Soul Caliber 2 on GC was super awesome, slightly better than the original on Dreamcast, none of the other sequels have matched up imo. My favourite and most used fighters are...
Talim Maxi Kilik Mitsurugi Link Seong Mi-na
Hated... Voldo (the sexy one) Raphael (the cheating one)
Button mashers are easily defeated in SC2, when you get good at soul charging and blocking. Skill ftw!
One of the most disappointing games ever, the DC version was amazing but the sequel didn't really add to it, it felt more like a remix than a sequel, still very playable and would rate it higher than any SSB game, but I was kind of expecting more, as for favourite character that would be Siegfried.
Terrific game some of the best music and sound I've heard for a fighting game. I played the Xbox version with Spawn. He was decent but I usually stuck with other characters like Nightmare. Otherwise a good pick up.
I notice that people compare this to Smash Bros. and I think it's hard to do. Smash Bros. is an deep party fighting game while Soul Caliber 2 is a deep 3-D weapons based brawler. They just don't feel the same to compare them side by side. Both are great no need to choose one over the other.

Wii : 5234 3442 0233 5325 3DS: 2664-2106-1671 I have A LOT of games, if you want to play something, just email me jangonov...
@jangonov: LMAO NO! I hated him, and a friend of mine who was slightly better at SC2, took great pleasure in squirming all over me doing horrible things that made me feel sick. I HATE VOLDO, EW!
Oh yeah, that guy! He gave me the creeps too. There's someone else in another game that reminds me of him, but I don't remember what it was...
