Owned this for Gamecube and probably got 15 hours in before losing interest. I enjoyed what I played and the big airship battles were great.Too many random battles and lack of time were the reasons I gave up but I really liked the style and it had some good characters.I think the fact that the game was designed/written (I think) by a woman really made it a bit different. I've always loved the blue skys in Sega games too. Sega Rally and Outrun are great for this.

What's this bit for again?

I had it on both versions of the game, finished neither. The DC one had overkill level of not so random encounters with slower battles that dragged out so I got fed up with it in the 'aztec' kind of looking area. The GC one I took a bit further as they sped up the fight animations and the random battle generator calmed down to a normal occurrence level but as it was re-tread and something got in the way I never finished it either but I put I know like twice the distance on it. it's a good game, not sure the 5th best game or game series out of them but it's notably nicely done with a unique angle and the airship battles were damn fun and something I had wished for years the tools at Square would have shoved in their games.

Never played it myself. I always kinda wished I did, but I can't really see what makes it stand out, and I certainly can't see why it should cost so much. Not that it matters, since I doubt I could get myself to play it legally.

I had it for a while then got bored and sold it. I was at the first Airship battle and just couldn't figure out how to win so I gave up.
Plus there was just too many other games that I was more interested in. It wasn't bad but I just lost the desire to keep playing.

I played it, it's good but not spectacular. The writing and characters are passable but not exactly gripping or memorable and the encounter rate was set way too high especially when flying about the 'world map'. The areas where well designed and the battle system was good but releasing so close and on the same platform as Grandia II it definitely got overshadowed in that regard. Ship battles, recruitment and base building where probably my favorite parts of the game but mostly because of how much they reminded me of the Suikoden games.

Definitely an above-average JRPG that fans of the genre should check out; can't say it's anything I couldn't live without though.

@Pro...err...James: I wonder how I missed your reply last year? I would ask you to PLEASE stop rubbing NiGHTS in my face. I'm quite annoyed enough that I'll probably never get a chance to try it without such reminders. I don't give a darn about Virtua Fighter or Shining Force, and Shenmue is another I'll likely never get to try (unless it joins Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi on PSN, of course).

And...yeah, I still haven't replayed or finished Arcadia.

Ah Well, I can play as Vyse and Aika on Valkyria Chronicles. Evil laugh ensues

Main Final Fantasy & Quest/Shinobi Team fan...but I do like many SEGA games and a few Nintendo games.

I can be cute if I want to be, but I choose not to...as it's not my style.
