Alright, so I finally bought Sin and Punishment on the VC and beat it, and it was AMAZING, but the whole game I was like "whatthehecksgoingonthisissocool!?" Anyone else feel this way? I seriously don't think the story in this game made any sense, but somehow it was still really good.

I really liked the fact that the story was incomprehensible.

Scared of the future, but bored with the past.

I loved the game, but the story really didn't make any sense. I need to play it again sometime. Maybe when my Wii gets fixed.

S&P makes Metal Gear Solid 4 look like a simple children's fable. I'm a sucker for nonsensical, over-the-top stories, too. I hope S&P2 follows up on this tradition rather than trying to explain the first one.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

Yeah I didn't have a clue what was going on, I just knew I needed to shoot everything, then swipe anyone I missed. Awesome awesome game, and the sequel looks similarly hectic.

I didn't really like the game to be honest, I don't think I even bothered to finish it, I still feel ripped off for downloading it, the controls didn't make much sense to me, but it does have a style all its own though, even I can't deny that, but its just not my kind of game really.

Yeah, when I first played through the game, I had no idea what was going on. I still have no idea what's going on, but I just go with it now. Giant robot battles above a blood-covered Tokyo? I don't care how it happened, it's frikken awesome! I really think it adds to it, though, as it compliments the feelings of absolute insanity you get when the screen fils with Ruffians and you're struggling just to survive. It's awesome!

I'm still trying to beat this game through on hard, though...Darn you, Birth Model!

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

SonicMaster

There are easy difficulties on this, right?

Yes, there's an easy difficulty. along with Normal and Hard.

Still haven't unlocked Hard Mode.
I kinda understood the story (even though it was hard to at first). The final boss battle was epic. Felt a bit short though... at least the sequel's on the way.

Hard mode is evil. Now that I know a strategy to Birth Model, I'm fine though. Maybe I'll finally beat it on Hard today?

As much as I try to make sense of the story, it just doesn't come to me. I said screw it about 3 playthroughs ago. XD

If it's that hard to understand, there's always the Wikipedia article.

@irken004: It's harder with the GC controller to me.

This game is tough on a classic controller

Its the controls that put me off mostly, they just don't make sense to me at all.

Hmm...I never had any problem with the controls. I use a Gamecube set to Control Scheme 3; Shoulders to strafe, Control Stick to aim, B to shoot, A to jump, and Y to change targeting reticule. Only thing wrong with it is the analog shoulders, which makes rolling difficult.

I use the "Normal" control" scheme on the GC controller. L to shoot, A to change reticule, D-Pad to move/roll, C-Stick to aim, and R to jump. Only difficult thing is rolling...

whoa, beastman93, I couldn't do that. aiming with the right control stick and moving with the left is just so foreign to me. On FPS games I even use the "goldeneye" control scheme. I use the GCN controller with Y and X for strafing, the control stick for aiming, L is shoot, and Z for jumping. This makes rolling easy because you just double tap Y or X.

I think I used the classic controller on this one, I cant remember...... as for stories you should play more Treasure game. They all have very wacked out stories and characters.... from Gunstar Heroes charaters named, Red, Blue, Yellow, Orange etc..... To Bangai-O and its robots that kick major a$$ and eat fruit for health..... Treasure is a VERY Japanese Hardcore game dev company. I dont think its suppose to make sense but the gameplay is freakin awsome always and thats just what Treasure is and has always been known for

I love the controls, they're a bit like JFG.

I hated them at first but quickly got used to them. Fun fun game and definatelly worth getting used to the control scheme for that is for sure.
