So I just found out that there is version of Sim City for the Super Nintendo. I had no idea that there was
such a thing. Then again I did not grow up with an SNES. But I have been playing Maxis games since about
1996 I think. It mostly on the PC with a game called Sim Town. Anyway I was playing Sim City for SNES
and I prefer the playstation version. I have never played it on PC.

Has anyone played Sim City for SNES? What's your take on that game if you have?

Yup it’s fun once you wrap your head around the controls. Bowser also make a appearance.

It was the best way to play Sim City back in the day outside of a PC, and considering the age of the PC game it has probably aged better.

I forgot about it, I would get it but I have the PC version somewhere. I could go for Sim Ant, though...since I grew up with that game. (the PC version anyways)

One of the few, if not the only, SNES title I have any personal connection with. I love it to bits. Too bad the series has gone down hill to the point that Cities Skylines had to take over as the flame bearer. Shame on you, EA. First you ruin SimCity and now Star Wars!

SimCity was my introduction to City building sim games. I never owned a PC growing up and I remember reading about SimCity in Nintendo Power. I fell in love with the game the moment I rented it. It's definitely in my top 5 favorite SNES games.

@Joeynator3000 Never‘ve played Sims. SimCity on SNES is pretty much the only Sim thing I‘ve played. But no matter the series EA has the reverse Midas touch of turning everything into garbage one way or another.

Yeah, Sims 3 was the last one I played, it started out fine, but then EA released ten billion $30 expansions for it. And then threw in microtransactions in the main game, it's just...not fun anymore. I haven't even bothered looking at Sims 4.

Simcity and simcity2000 I only played on Pc... might have to boot up Retroarch and check out the SNES version.

Pitifully predictable, Correctly political

@Meowpheel Probably, since owning PC back in the day would've probably set you back a thousand dollars or more.
I had not heard of SimTown until I learned that the Super Famicom got a game called Sim City Jr. and I later learned it was actually a Japanese-exclusive port of SimTown.

I suppose the one biggest complaint about SNES SimCity is that it was designed pre-Mouse. And even though Nintendo reprinted the game for years, they never updated it to add Mouse support. (although it seems that late in the SNES' life, they did give consideration to updating the Player's Choice version of F-Zero to swap in the Satellaview cars, but that didn't happen in the end)
Though it's not terribly unplayable (they did at least think to use the Start and Select buttons to quickly move between the menu bars and main window).

Of course the SNES version has the Nintendo touches, like the music and Dr. Wright (the crazy tutorial guy).

Oh yeah...I don't even know if an accessory like this exists, but...is it possible to use a Mouse device for the SNES Classic? Could one happen, and then we could play Mario Paint on that system?....No?...Oki. TwT

The SNES version was the first 'Sim' game I ever played - and my favourite to date! Bowser can come along and go full-on 'beast mode' on your Megalopolis! ..how cool is that?!

I played the old MS DOS version first but this is the version I'll remember the most. Sim City Creator on Wii was pretty good for what it was also.

Did you called me ?
Well...
I like The Sims games, since from the First series until The Sims 4. Well, i haven't played The Sims 2 due to no chances to play it but i knew it was one of the Best The Sims games.
Oh, about Sim City. When i introduced by The Sims 1 PC for the first time back on year 2003, it was the beginning of my True Love of Life Simulation gaming. At the same time, i noticed The Sims 1 was created by the same peoples behind Sim City. I had ever watched the gameplay of Sim City, but unfortunately... not interested.
Sorry, dude.
