Topic: Should I Get a Gamecube or Nintendo 3DS First?

I really want a Gamecube and want to play the 5 years I missed when my family got a PS2 instead :lol:
Should I get that or a 3DS?

Do you own a Wii? I would just grab up a used Wii (or even a new Wii) for cheap that way you have access to two outstanding libraries. If you already have a Wii then no, don't get a Gamecube. Regardless of having a Wii or not though, get a 3DS! You'll be glad you have it for Zelda and Starfox now and REALLY glad you have it when Mario Kart and Mario Land are out!

If you have a Wii, then you don't need a Gamecube, tho because the Wii is backwords compatible.

Also don't get a 3DS, since the 3DS Lite is coming soon...

gamecube it has some awesome games but 3DS dont have so get a gamecube

I wouldn't get a 3DS now in till after this week, since so many rumors are going around about a 3DS Lite early next year.

Ah, that is true. So OP, if a redesign is important to you, then definitely wait until after the conference tomorrow (8PM PST) to see if they announce a 3DS lite or something.

Yep, if they don't announce one tomorrow night, then it'd be fine for you to get one,

If you have a Wii, the only reason to get a GameCube would really be for the GameBoy Player attachment. That is the only GameCube feature the Wii cannot emulate.

If you don't have and/or don't have any interest in the Wii, then GameCubes only run about 30 bucks nowadays, and you can probably find them cheaper if you look hard enough. Some of the great games are really cheap too. (I saw F-Zero GX selling for five bucks the other day)

But, I want to play GameCube games on a Gamecube lol
And I like having the original console
But then again, I really want a 3DS for all those first party games, especially Mario Kart, Zelda OoT, and Animal Crossing....
And I really like the 3DS design right now, so I don't care about any redesigns XD

That's a good plan. Since you already have the Wii which can play GC games, I wouldn't think it would be a super high priority to get a Cube. You might just consider getting both now if you really want to. Gamecubes are absolutely dirt cheap.

Why? Other than the GB Player, there's no point. Everything else is exactly the same on the Wii. It's not worth $30 (plus whatever a GB Player costs) just to play GB/GBC/GBA games on your TV screen and see a purple (or black) lunchbox in front of you.

By the way, WHY do you want to play GCN games on the original console? If you want to play GCN games, just get a GCN controller and memory card from GameStop! It's a waste of money to buy the console rather than buy the controller and memory card. The cost of them will be less than the console, and maybe you could even buy a game.
