has anyone finished that game .... ESPECIALLY in co-op .. i think its one of the hardest games to finish ?? ,,,, me and my mate played for a while last night and daaam its tough .. we could get up to the Moving Platform level and just couldnt get through it

I used a Game Genie back in the NES days and that was the only way I could beat it. And just to let you know there is no way to beat the game on two players. One level I dont remember much but you had to ride a vehicle and because of a bug in the game it is impossible for two players to finish the level.
It's the second-to-last level that has the bug.
I've seen my friend finish Contra no problem (after I assume he practiced a lot). It doesn't look like it required NEARLY the amount of pixel-precision Battletoads clearly demands.
It's believable that playing two-player makes the game even harder (regardless of the bug) unless both players are good at the game, because of the unfair Game Over system.
harder than getting earthbound on some sort of virtual console...oh wait a second!

Very interesting about the so called "BUG" .. i am keen to see this , and i reckon id be pissed doing all the hard work with a mate and not get that satisfaction of completing the game because of it !

If you can get your hands on the Japanese version it's supposed to be quite a bit easier. And I believe the two player bug was fixed in that version as well.
Maybe that's why that version has jumped in price lately. One site I know used to sell that game for like $12, now they bumped it up to $88 (cart-only!). Should've bought it.
(oh well, at least I got games from them like Moai-kun and Holy Diver before they spiked.)
