I would love to see Sonic games go back and actually perfect the gameplay found in Sonic Adventure and SA2. Those were good games, and the biggest gameplay flaw was the camera. It certainly wasn't bad enough to render the games unplayable, and technology and games have advanced since then. There should be a way to make it work!!!

That's what Sega has been trying to do for years, particularly with Sonic '06, which tried to copy the formula exactly, while adding some twists. I believe you've seen the results. If not, I envy you.

Yeah,I know it's a MMO. I really hope that it will turn out good!

Banjo & Kazooie also needs to go back to there roots. I didn't like N&B because of the boring, repetitive missions and ugly characters.

I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!

Yeah, and from what I've heard it was worse. When you can't even put together a game with the PS360 hardware that's at least EQUAL to something on Dreamcast, you have a problem, and it's not the game formula itself. From what I've heard, Unleashed's day levels were good, so it's not like that sort of game can't be done. It's just that the people at Sega haven't put in the time, effort, and skill to make it happen.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

Lots of great ideas here. What about Contra, Ninja Gaiden, or Mega Man X? I think there's still a lot that can be done with an 8-bit Ninja Gaiden game.

I'm only saying this because no one else has seemed to notice this about the Sonic games.

Remember a time when you got chaos emeralds via special stages, not because the Storyline demanded them? How about this, please? Every Sonic game from Sonic Adventure onward seemed to drop this idea, which was the most rewarding part of playing a Sonic game. Getting all the chaos emeralds to become Super Sonic, and restarting when you realized you'd screwed up too many times to get every emerald. I remember in Sonic 3 I'd already be Super Sonic by the Second Act of Marble Garden, and now you only get to be Super Sonic during the final boss or some stupid crap like being a Werehog.

Edit: Also, REMOVE THE BLASTED DIALOGUE FROM SONIC GAMES.

^ Why does Zelda need to be rebooted? If you mean back to 2d,then I disagree.

"Series apostrophe"?

I apologize for my reaction. I assume the apostrophe was a typo in the title of the thread. If not, the reason I had reacted like that was because there was an apostrophe after the 's', and it seemed to me that it was a possessive noun (with no proper noun coming after it).

Otherwise, I believe most of the the game series are all right the way that they are.

Well, Sonic of course, but he already is. Metroid is best in 2D, I think, and a brand new DS adventure would be killer awesome. I also think a new 2D Ninja Gaiden game for WiiWare would be great.

I would love to see a Wiiware sequel to A Link to the Past.

Actually, Link's Awakening on Game Boy is considered its sequel, but if you mean a WiiWare game in the same style as A Link to the Past, then yeah that'll be pretty cool.

"Sonic, of course." Exactly why? The new Sonic games are unique and fun. Sure they aren't executed very well, but it's not because Sonic needs to go back to 2D. And besides, isn't that what Needlemouse is?

Personally, I don't think series should go back to their routes. Sure once in a while is good, just to give that nostalgia, but games should evolve, not go back to stage 1. If your stuck in the past and can't like the new games, then play the old ones. But games shouldn't be going backwards.

An extremely good point! Sonic just needs to do another good Sonic Adventure game, that's all. And getting the old voice actors back wouldn't hurt.

Someone should make a list of games that need to "move on". Mario would be at the top of the list!
