We need a sequal to Donkey Kong 64.Like,NOW! >:[

Also,Final Fantasy. I'm not talking about the battle system, because FFXIII's battle system looks [bleep]ing awesome,I mean that it should return to being medieval, like FFI-FFVI and FFIX. I'm not saying that I don't like it being futuristic style, but it's called Final FANTASY,not Final SCI-FI! But I guess FFXIV will be like the pre-FFVII games...

Ridge Racer. The Psp sequel was amazing, and all. But, I would love to see a 'Ridge Racer ReBirth'.

Zelda- The 3 ones are all right, but the series was always at it's best in 2D.

Best to leave this to handhelds imo.
As much as I like the original Zelda, and A Link to the Past, I would hate to see another Zelda game in that style on the big screen.
Zelda II on the other hand... I would love to see a 2.5D console remake of that one.

Another series that needs to return to its roots (if someone picks up the license), is Rush. L.A. Rush tried a little bit to turn the series in a more realistic direction - this is in stark contrast to San Francisco Rush 2049, where cars had wings and earned points for doing barrel rolls.

RandomWiiPlayer

Sonic, but that is happening.
Star Fox, no more land levels, just space
Mario Kart. Take everything that they added in MKWii, and erase that.
Super Mario Bros (Not Super Mario _____). I played NSMBWii again today, just as boring as I remembered. Go back to SMB, SMB3, NSMB

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Paper Mario indeed needs to go back to the first two games. Super Paper Mario strayed too much from the series, although its platforming elements helped me beat the game.

Sonic needs to give up on 3D games and go back to sidescrollers.

We need another Super Mario 64. Even Galaxy is too thematic.

Donkey Kong needs a new, regular game. Jungle Beat, even in its New Play Control form, is too much of an action game with no plot. Donkey Konga and Barrel Blast aren't even platformers.

They've released four 3D Zeldas already; time to go back to its roots. Maybe another 16-bitter.

You do know FF14 is an MMO, just like FF11, right? Stylistically, it'll be like the older games(FF11 actually borrowed a lot of its gameplay elements and settings from the NES Final Fantasy 3), but gameplay-wise it'll be a whole different game.

But if you don't want Sci-fi, there's always Final Fantasy Versus 13, which is going for a more modern setting(which you don't see very often. I hope it turns out well, because I'd take a modern or Industrial setting over Medieval or Sci-fi any day).

@StarFox

Thematic? Don't you mean Cinamatic? Formulaic? Certainly you don't mean that it has too many, or focuses too much on themes. Because even Super Mario 64 did that. Mario has always been like that. Every stage has a specific theme, I doubt they'ed change that any time soon.

@Mickeymac: I meant that Sunshine has a tropical theme while Galaxy has a sci-fi theme; Super Mario 64 has a generic Mario theme.

You've done well, I must say, but not well enough.

Every series should go back to their roots. If there's a serious disconnect between where a series is at and where it began, then the creators should reevaluate if the newer games belong in the series at all.

Every series except Sonic, that is. They should just stop making those instead.

I agree. The Mushroom Kingdom is a fun place. Mario should check it out some time.

I would love to see Sonic games go back and actually perfect the gameplay found in Sonic Adventure and SA2. Those were good games, and the biggest gameplay flaw was the camera. It certainly wasn't bad enough to render the games unplayable, and technology and games have advanced since then. There should be a way to make it work!!!

Star Fox too. I would like to fly in an airplane and shoot at things. Star Fox can fulfill this desire easily, if it wants.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.
