I was wondering what ever gender the sprite in SoM is. In the english version the sprite is male but in the german version the sprite is female. What's the sprite's gender in the japanese version??? Why do u think nintendo changed the gender???
Wait, what? LOL The first time I saw Sprite's sprite (heh heh heh), I thought it was a girl. But, upon further playthrough, I now release that it is indeed a male. :3
I can only recall the german version and it always calls the sprite on screen "Koboldin" or Kobold Mädchen" which mean female kobold or kobold girl. Also when u get imprisoned on the airship the sprite gets sent into the kitchen. I can't remember the actual dialog but I think they ment the sprite belongs in the kitchen because she is female.
I'm pretty sure sprite is referred to as a male during in the game, although I did think he was a she for a good majority of the game.
Edit, just checked Wiki and it says this "The sprite's gender has never officially been stated; however, in the Japanese version's script, he uses the first-person pronoun "oira" (おいら?) that is mostly used by male speakers"
Hi, sorry to hijack the thread, but can the in-game text be changed in SOM? I've bought it online and I've just found out before I receive the cart that the text is in german! Meine Deutsche ist nicht so gut..

Good question. I know the NTSC version can't be changed, so if you're in PAL country it's possible since I don't know much about language options over there anyway.
