Hello, Nintendo Fans!:
I've decided to start an account on this forum to give information and all. The first piece of info I'd like to give is that if you don't already know, it's possible to scan e-Reader Cards on to a Game Boy Advance SP!
Normally, when you try to do this, you'll get error messages due to the plug on the e-Reader being so far away from the Extension Port on the SP.
However, scanning cards still can be done! I tested this myself, so this is reliable information.
Your required utilities for this experiment are:
Game Boy Advance SP
Nintendo e-Reader
e-Reader Compatible Card(s)
GBA Link Cable
First, instert the e-Reader into the system, obviously. Turn the power on. Continue to activate the card scanning.
Now for how to make cards capable of being scanned into an SP. Take your GBA Link Cable. Now what you've got to do is link the Extension Ports on the e-Reader and the Game Boy Advance SP. I'm not sure if which plug on the cable going into where matters, but I tested this with the purple plug into the e-Reader and the gray plug into the Game Boy Advance SP. This is what enables card scanning on the SP.
You're done! Actually, no, you aren't. Clearly, you have to scan in your card(s) into the e-Reader and be amazed by these steps!
Thanks for reading. I wish you luck with these steps, and have fun doing this!

The e-Reader uses the EXT.1 port for communicating. All the EXT.1 connector in the E-Reader does is act like an extension connector. Simply put:

  • Using a GBA, connect the Link Cable to the EXT.1 E-Reader connector (P2) and the other end (P1) to a different GBA.
  • Using a GBA SP, just connect the Link Cable to the EXT.1 on the console (P2) and the other end (P1) to a different GBA.

Scanning function fine on the GBA SP. It just looks very strange on a SP. I personally use the Game Boy Player when using the e-Reader.

The e-Reader does not work on the GB Micro (won't start up on mind).

That plug on the e-reader is just an extension port since the device itself covers the ext port on GBA.
All it does is passthrough the port. that's it... it's not connected to the e-reader device AT ALL.
If you take it apart you can see this very clearly, and removing it will allow you to use it on a DS phat.

The e-Reader can also scan your credit card, and have your money sent to Nintendo.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.
