Okay guys I need your help. I recently got a retron5 for my birthday which was last Thursday and how do I do download a firmware update to the computer and then copy it to a sd card?

Be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY careful with the pins, ESPECIALLY the SNES ones. They can break easily if you don't do the "correct" method (one side and then the other). Mine broke within the first month, and I still haven't bothered to get it fixed

@Fiyaball actually they fixed that issue if you but the new sku. I think it's black so don't buy the grey one.

My SNES slot works great, it's the Genesis slot that has an unusual death grip. I think I still have a game that I don't like that I can use to wear it down (if not, I know a store that I could get some from. Doubt anyone will miss "Tazmania", and it's only $5 - a killing if it prevents me from ruining my Rocket Knight Adventures cart just by daring to play it).

But yeah, wow, @Pianomanfreak They have the firmware updates on their website. Just follow the instructions they give you carefully, and you'll be fine. I haven't checked for an update in almost a year...and seeing as I've yet to encounter any problems...eh...I'll go for a record...

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you'll need an SD card to update, in case you weren't already aware. I think it might come with one, but from my experience, the bigger challenge comes down to whether or not your computer has an SD slot...

Thanks guys I manage to follow the instructions and now everything is working great. Now I have been playing alot of Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy advance games last couple of days.

I broke the black one. I doubt they truly fixed it, unless they changed the angles the pins are at.
