@Dankykong: Honestly if your unsure about clone systems then get an original NES/SNES. Honestly you can't go wrong with the originals and surprisingly they still hold up well. I would however go with the top loader NES over the original box as the top loader corrected alot of the problems of the box NES. As far as SNES go, the original is better then the mini, but the mini is still a good choice.

So if I'm interested in an official NES, that one in the pic I posted is a bit better of a choice?

@Dankykong: Yeah as classic as the box NES is, the design does have its problems. For one thing by having to push down on the cartridge over time can damage the connectors which is one culprit of flashing screens, scrambled title screens etc. not dust and dirt as most people suspect. If you ever seen a Famicom, you will notice that it was a top loader to begin with. Alot of people suspect that the boxy front loading NES NA design was to convince American consumers that the NES was more on par with a VCR more then a video game system due to the NA video game crash of 83. However that design wasn't that good for the connectors in the game cartridges. The top loader NES corrected that issue.

@Tasuki: I forgot about all of that, I read that some time ago and it all came back. Lol every front loading NES I've toyed with in the past 10 years has had issues. I use to play one at a neighbors house like 15 years ago now and it was the best one I've ever played. Well good to know anyway, I think this one store has a bunch of them cause I saw them displayed and they were only like $30 or so

@Dankykong: Yeah while they are not bad the front loading NES, keep in mind that they are 30 years old now so age is catching up to them. Still if you can find a cheap one or even a refurbished one at a good price I would recommend it.

Yeah the age is making me nervous but I suppose if the system itself costs less than a full price new game anyway, I can't really be too angry if it pooped out on me. With knowing this, having a bad cart is more worrisome I suppose.

Retro RPGs are far better than the modern ones today.

Think about it for a second.....The old final fantasies are worth playing compared to the new ones, Pokemon is getting worse these days and never have we seen more traditional Phantasy Star games unlike back then. Now even the Mario RPGs seem to take a safe route instead of doing something different. I love Dream Team but I can't honestly where Paper Mario is going here......

Atleast Fire Emblem is still as awesome as ever. And we have Ys.......right?

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

Let me just say a "magical" original Xbox is great for the retro gamer who just want to play the games. Yeah I enjoy playing on the original hardware but I will be honest some of those games are just getting crazy price wise and some are just getting harder and harder to find. Probably one of my best gaming purchases I made in a long time.

[Unpopular retro opinion] I played Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES) some days ago and it's one of my least favorites games in the series. Okay, the crayon styled graphics are gorgeous, but I feel the level design is so... uninspired, compared with Super Star Ultra and Kirby's Adventure. And there is a lack of common abilities like the sword. There's not many classic themes from the series either. Overall it feels "un-kirby" to me.

The game is the first one made after after Sakurai stopped working on the series, and the director later made Kirby 64, which was is a huge improvement in my opinion.

This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
