This thread is for our older and retro-loving younger users to discuss gaming back in the golden age of the 80s and 90s (and maybe 00s). Enjoy yourselves and don't get your denture paste everywhere
Also, I want to point out that more specific topics on certain games are still allowed.

Just out of curiosity anyone know where I can get a couple Neo Geo AES Controllers from online that's reliable? I am looking for the joysticks not the controller pads.

@Tasuki:
I meant to reply to your earlier thread but didn't get around to it, since i don't really have a good answer. Obviously eBay is always there, but you might want to throw up a thread/post over at Nintendo Age. The site's filled with retro gamers and collectors (many of whom are also NeoGeo collectors) so you might be able to get a good deal on one from someone there.
ogo79 wuz here.
this thread has just increased in value

@ogo79:
You phony, I bet you didn't even have Sega Channel back in the 90's. I did, I was all over that Mega Man: The WIly Wars harder than a nostalgic pile of Hostess pee wee herman twinkies, while going through an epic funky round of the chickenpox. I guess you could say I was a.......Eternal champion.
once again you fail miserably. i had the sega channel on release day. thats how i too first played wily wars.
it was in the test drive section, along with body count which i helped get reproduced 3 years ago on cart.
you fail so hard it almost hurts me

I think it's still too early for it to be called retro (it was released in 2001), but I've noticed that GC nostalgia's been growing a lot over the recent years, huh? I see a lot of people talking about Mario Sunshine, TTYD, Double Dash and the desire of seeing these games on the VC.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.
Mileage varies on what is "retro", but come on now. GCN is not retro. Just because you were a child when it came out does not automatically make it a retro system.
And incidentally, that's why there's a recent trend of interest in the system again — those who were little kids when it was out are now reaching their early 20s, which is typically the age range where people have their own disposable income and nostalgia for things from their younger years starts to take hold.

@MadAussieBloke: Adventure was the very first video game I ever played or even laid eyes on and one of my very earliest memories.It was Xmas day 1980 and my uncle had just got a 2600 for Xmas.If memory serves me right,it was either built into the system or was part of multi-game cartridge.I might be wrong on the last part though.
@the_shpydar: No the period time and number of generations back makes something retro, I feel like diminishing returns has clouded your judgement (could be wrong).
@Jazzer94: I think you and i agree on that point; but the GCN, being only two generations back (not to mention the fact that its entire library could be played on a last-gen system), coupled with the fact that just 10 years ago it was still the then-current Nintendo console, keeps it outside the "retro" category for now IMO.
gamecube and n64 are the last link on the chain when people think of legit retro
lets call it "hipster retro"
therefore you are hipsters.
ogo has spoken.
anyone opposing me is automatically wrong.
call me shallow-minded.
but whatever you dont call me wrong.
or unhand-some.
