So Yesterday IGN announced that Double Dragon was getting rebooted by Wayfoward this coming july under the name Double Dragon: Neon.
So I thought it would make sense to have a thread were we compared the originals to the remakes and other modern day sequels. Franchises that have been Rebooted this way off the top of my head.
Castlevaina- Castlevaina rebirth and Lords of shadow Contra- Hard corps uprising and Contra Rebirth Bionic Commando- Bionic Commando and Bionic Commando re-armed A Boy and His Blob- A boy and his Blob (wayfoward) Shante- Shante's risky's revenge Pac-man- Pacman Championship DX

"Double Dragon: Neon is far from a standard retro remake. It’s WayForward’s love letter to the decade that spawned the franchise - the music, the style, and culture of the 80’s pulse through the nucleus of Double Dragon: Neon. But don’t think this is a simple graphical facelift; with our innovative ‘mix tape’ level up system and power-up high-fives, we pushed it to the limit!"
...i hope this will fit in my nes, snes, or genesis... ...or wii or ps2...

I'm completely against reboots when it involves wiping the slate clean with a franchise, as has been done with Castlevania. I don't see how companies can throw away over 20 years of video game history like that. Can anybody imagine if they did that with Zelda? All the fun of figuring out the timeline down the tubes, and the possibility of turning the series into something that doesn't close to capturing the original's magic (as with Castlevania). The reboot trend in gaming and Hollywood needs to be rebooted itself and GIVEN THE BOOT.
@Sony_70
DAT HEART TATTOO!!!!!! I'm tempted to try Neon, but I read a pretty bad review from IGN. Need more info first.
