Ever play a game you just can't beat? I have not beaten a single NES game, YET.
I notice hard games are mostly on the NES. What is one of you're most difficult games evar?

Ninja Gaiden 2 for NES is impossible. It's a good game, but a tad hard.

Oh yes, there are quite a few. For example:

  • "Rayman DS" (NDS) (This is the craziest final boss ever.)
  • "Trauma Center under the knife" (NDS) (This game gets so hectic that you need 4 arms to play it.)
  • "Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II" (GCN) (These 3D flying games were never easy for me.)
  • "Super Ghouls'n Ghosts" (GBA) (This thing looks like the SNES version but is much harder!)

And there are some more but it would be too embarassing to list them all.

all 3 NES Ninja Gaidens took me a while. Could never one-credit 2....those end-game bosses were so abrasive.

Super Meatboy's achievement stuff is violently difficult too - no-death-running dark worlds (entire worlds) cause me to go through 2 different USB controllers.

I Want To Be The Guy - and both Battlekid games (esp. 2) are pretty ridicu-difficult as well for similar reasons.

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Ghost's n Goblins for obvious reasons. Also just about any Shoot 'em Up for me, especially NES era shmups.

I find Contra pretty hard and I refuse to use the konami code because when I beat a game using cheats, I don't feel like I really beat the game.

You haven't ever beaten Super Mario Bros. ???????

And yeah Contra is near impossible to beat without the code for me.

Super C is another story though. I could beat that game with one hand tied behind my back.

Also I think this thread should be titled "Controller Breaking Hard Games"
Just a suggestion, not to mention you spelled Breaking wrong

I can't really think of any off the top of my head.. Sure, there are games that I think are really hard, but I usually can beat any game if I just stick with it and keep trying.

The only way I beat this game was using the Game Genie and the only reason I did that was because I wanted to see the cinema scenes.

I am surprised that no one mentioned Battletoads yet.

Battletoads really isn't as hard as people say it is, for me any way.
I played it for the first time about a month ago and beat the first 5 or 6 levels no problem....

LOL I got the impression that you were posting about you being so mad about a difficult game that you broke a table. XD

Backloggery. Now playing: 3D Dot Game Heroes, Donkey Kong, EarthBound Beginnings, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+.

I have a friend who can now beat the original Contra pretty easily (and said he's also finished the first two Ninja Gaidens) but says he's never beat the original Super Mario Bros.

Oh god...

Ninja Gaiden
Kid Icarus
Super Mario Bros. (only way I've been able to beat it is by save-stating on the 3DS virtual console release)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (the real one, not the one that was released on the NES in America)
Battletoads
Ghosts n' Goblins

Strangely, I've never found the original Contra to be terribly difficult, and have beaten it multiple times in my life (and have never even once used the Konami Code, btw). Super C is actually quite a bit more difficult. I think it's because I'm bad at those overhead levels.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SD)

New_3DaSh_XL

I find Kid Icarus fairly easy tbh. Anyway...

Dillon's Rolling Western I didn't beat for a year because of constant rage quitting.

Crimson Shroud. Witch Kings. 'nuff said.

Zelda II. 'nuff said.
