Wait, what? Even has SNES graphics? That's a laugh and a half.
And it wasn't exactly perfected beyond the NES. Actually, most GBC games looked cheap...and the color palette was just lacking all around in comparison to what was achievable back on the NES. Yesterday, i fired up Mega Man Extreme 2 and i couldn't believe how little color there was in the environments and character sprites....Even the environments looked lack luster.and the sound chip? NES destroys the GB's no question. The GBC's lineup still remains the absolute worst in comparison to every other Nintendo handheld IMO.

The line-up is okay in my opinion.
1. Blue Sphere: Star Ocean.... I mean seriously this game perfected the RPG make-up of 2d games. SO on the SNES almost did what this game did but this game did it more then ever. I will admit the worlds are kinda bland but for the first time we have an game with the "Phantasy Star II final boss ending".
2. Perfect Dark
3. Mario Golf
4. DK in color ( Trust me it was an big thing back then )
5. Pokemon yellow in full color ( western version )
6. Zelda GB in color with Printable stickers features
7. Lufia ( seriously Lufia fans should not miss playing this. On an real GBC
8. That SNK RPG what was it again???? "Crystalis"
9. Ghouls and Goblins NES port.
10. Super Mario Brother Deluxe gave us the time-attack mode as well.
11. The point is that an GBC can play all GB/SGB games as well. IN COLOR, with sound. SO IT IS AMAZING, JUST AMAZING. Some of the Gameboy games like "Super Mario Land" was programmed to have colorful appearance if ran on certain hardware. Also because of the tones being used games like "Bionic Commando" had decent graphics. The same could be said for the "Game Gear" as many later games proved to have graphics equal or better then the SNES.
12. MAGICAL CHASE OMGSH OMGSH LIKE SHALLOW SCHOOL GIRL DUH HEAD OMGSH OMGSH MAGICAL CHASE WAS PORTED TO THE GBC. That is just insanely awesome.

I will admit the GBC is lacking the speed of the Mega Drive Genesis system but still images ( which most sprites are ) is amazing just amazing to see.

About the power of the GBC. The GBC if programmed could be used to turn on other infared products. The infared is removed from the GBA. Meaning the GBA had wireless ( true wireless ) before the GBA. You could also program the infrared to scan codes as well.

Yes the GBC/GBA is lacking the backlite light but you can even mod it to utilize the NDS/3DS touch screen. Yes you can do it.

The GBC was the last real Gameboy unit before Nintendo abandoned it for the lame GBA system which just emulated the GBC but no infrared.

Think of the GBC like the PS2. In it's later lifetime we had some great games and early on some great games but it can play like an VHS player.
I miss VHS so badly it was so perfect unlike DVD. Since the DVD everybody started to buy from the bootleggers.

1. SNES by far
2. Nintendo DS. As an RPG fan they really catered to me.
3. Gameboy (and im talking the old brickboy. Use it as a weapon or a game console!) Lots of good memories with the gameboy and i I took it everywhere as a kid.
4. N64. Those multiplayer Goldeneye and Star Fox 64 sessions alone helped me to put a few thousand hours probably into this console. Those Rare games too were incredible. Lack of RPGs to me was its main flaw.
5. Wii. Galaxy made me like Mario again. Love Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Xenoblade Chronicles. Was not super thrilled with waggle controls though.
6. 3DS. Lots of games I love. Definitely some design flaws on the launch editions. Still feel it hasn't reached that same status as the DS though.
7. NES. I grew up with the console and the Atari 2600 but I honestly have a hard time going back and playing a lot of these games. There are a few i treasure and always will but I need a bit more depth to my games.

10. WiiU. Yes I placed it as 10 because it is so far off the rest of my list. Pretty disappointed with it except for Rayman Legends, some nice GBA VC games and a few indie titles. Honestly I'm pretty disappointed with the console so far. Not a big fan of 3D World and do not like NintendoLand. Never been much of a fan of Smash Bros. series and Mario Kart, so that is more going against me. Not much other first party I want right now. I am looking forward to Star Fox U and Xenoblade X though. Just so far pretty disappointed.

I have been looking for a translation for this game. Do you know where I can find one?

I think I'll just say the GameCube is my favorite console and the Wii U is a close second. I mean, I don't really know whether it's just me, but I feel the Wii U is the GameCube 2 I've been yearning for... only that the Wii U might not have reached its full potential.

God first.

1. SNES. So many awesome classics, there's Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past, Final Fantasy VI, Super Metroid, I could list about thirty games that I all love to death. The sound quality is amazing and the 16 bit graphics hold up much better today than most 32 bit and even 64 bit systems.
2. N64. I had this at 3, then I realized I didn't have a 2 in mind, lol. Once again, spectacular library, most of the gems don't even need naming. One thing I didn't really approve of that has been said a lot already is that it lacks RPGs. There's Paper Mario, and Ogre Battle, and that's about all I can remember that doesn't make me throw up in my mouth COUGH COUGH QUEST 64
3. GBA. This is probably my most divisive entry, but honestly, I feel like it's library is huge, and many games are great improvements over their SNES counterparts. When you compare games like Mega Man Zero to Mega Man X, Zero comes out as superior. There were not only many ports, but there were also many games that greatly improved or performed best on the GBA, despite it having worse quailty than the SNES. I guess this is because of the difference in age.
4. NES/Famicom. The console that started it all. Home to the birth of so many great franchises, many of which hold up great today. There are also a whole lot of games that came out exclusively on the famicom, many of which can be easily played now with little trouble.
5. Gamecube. The Gamecube had an even bigger game selection than the N64, and of course, the 3D games improved greatly, ironing out all the glitches and hideous camera angles the N64 had in store. The genres are well balanced, and there is something for everyone.
6. DS. Like the gamecube, the DS had lots of great games from many different genres, and had a great amount of third party exclusives that have not been seen in the past.
7. Gameboy. It's a pretty good system, but very limited and clunky in comparison to other consoles on this list. Hey, portable Nintendo gaming had to start somewhere! It still has a much bigger selection than it's color successor.
8. 3DS. The 3DS has a very good library with a great amount of RPGs, and many games have been remade or ported to it perfectly. I actually made out a list of the top 50 games for the system, and there is absolutely no filler in the list!
9.Wii. Yeah... I'm not sure about this, I know it has lots of great games, and lots of bad games (I won't hold that against it), but looking back, none of it's really that memorable. That's probably just because it's more recent, but when it ages some more, it's place in this list might change.
10. Wii U. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great games for the system, but Nintendo is still barely churning them out. It's very hard to place, but the large amount of downloadable "Nindies" and Virtual Console games are a big plus.
11. GBC. The GBC doesn't really have that many games... One of the main reasons it is good is because of it's backwards compatibility. I don't know...
12. Virtual Boy. Ha! Aha! I have like, two games for the virtual boy, and there is no redeeming quality to owning one unless you're one of those people who want to be deprived of sleep because of major eyehurt.

1) DS
2) Wii
3) 3DS
4) Gamecube
5) Game Boy Advance
6) Wii U

WIi and DS are virtually a tie. Wii U is far below the others. Had I owned a SNES, I'd place it right up at the top based on the games I've played on it. N64 would be inbetween GBA and Wii U. NES would be at the bottom, but that's because most games haven't aged well.

Fan translation has been very slow moving and has apparently had multiple setbacks. One guy who was working on it had his entire hard drive die on him last year, putting him back at square one. Not even sure if he'll be able to motivate himself to start over. Another one had a translation that was 60% done in 2012, but has not been updated since.

1 - 3DS
2 - Wii U (though only because of the multiplayer fun)
3 - Gameboy Advance
4 - Gameboy Color

That's all I got.

Honestly I have one of those guide books ( the one with the main characters from SO2 on the cover facing each other ). From my understanding somebody was doing an translation ( if you have the page HTML please post it ) and was attempting to recruit people to do the translation.

Personally I do not want to see an in game translation of the game itself. I understand that people do enjoy translations; but I just admit to my self that I am illiterate and attempt to learn the language along the way. You can do it too, especially with all hand writing recognition software out there.

The annoying part of the game is that all the caverns/areas/etc have so many hidden this and hidden that; your left wondering back and forth like in "Cyber Knight" and "Phantasy Star 2". Then you might reach an boss ( as it is possible to avoid all enemies due to them being live and not time based ), or over-powered enemy and realize your under powered. As with FF8 many of the other non level-up stats requires you to use an point system which can increase various skill sets such as cooking. The game encourage you to use different characters for different tasks. Many little outside battle options or things are unusable without certain characters.

I find that Star Ocean 2 is an complete mess compared to Star Ocean SNES.
The over world graphics ( like the towns ) are in CGI pre-rendered/chrono Trigger appearances. The only thing I find better is that they have more logical explanation to the characters compared with the Animation.

Speaking of which. I really wish Star Ocean Blue Sphere was animated as with SO2. SO2 the animation was amazing as an series ( even more amazing then that pathetic Tales Of Phantasia four episode short ). Tales could have gone on longer but the Animation was canned for Blue Sphere.

Blue Sphere ( The GBC game at least ) is far more better then the original SNES game ( which is better then SO2 PSX ). SO2PSX had some great things about it but Blue Sphere is much more better side story that completes the story of the first game.

Just personally, this sort of thread is timeless-ish and I see no problem with resurrecting it. It's not like it's been a gap bridging whole console generations.

While I'm here I may as well post mine as it's easy:

1. Wii U - cos I love my gamepad and all my games, plus it can play Wii U, Wii and, with help, GameCube games, plus emulate 64, SNES and NES too.

2. Wii - cos it can play Wii and GameCube games

3. GameCube - cos it can only play GameCube games.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

The Nintendo console I had the most fun on is definitely the Game Cube. Partially because of nostalgic memories, but mostly because I enjoyed so many of the games that came out on it and the console itself was very good. It was a blast.

1. NES (FDS Peripheral)
2. SNES
3. GBA
4. 3DS
5. Wii U
6. N64
7. Gamecube
8. Gameboy
9. Wii

This was really hard and it changes depending on my current gaming mood.

I find it easier to do groups as opposed to numerical rankings. N64 is my clear favorite, but in general:

Favorite: N64, NES, GB
Still Amazing: SNES, Gamecube
Solid: Wii U, DS
OK: Wii, GBA
Disliked: 3DS

I couldn't really rank GBC because I had it more for the color upgrade than actual games (although SMB Deluxe and Poke Crystal were awesome!)

For all the years it lasted and the huge amount of games I played, the Gameboy has to get the number one spot, followed very closely by the NES as that was my first console and introduction to gaming. The GBA was also fantastic, so this sort of boosts the Cube's ranking due to the Player peripheral. And the 64 has so many good memories of multiplayer on 007 and Kart.

I did borrow my mate's Virtual Boy for a couple of months.... that was an interesting experience, shall we say.

And a special mention for the 2DS for keeping my kids entertained....
