Topic: Question about SNES cables.

Earlier today, I finally got my own SNES with SF2 Turbo and Super Tennis (All for free nonetheless). However, I didn't get any cables with it (Or controllers for that matter) so I wanted to know if the AV cables and AC Adapter used for the NES would work on the system. Thanks.

Both of them might but i'm not sure what the cables look like. But the AV adapter for the N64 will work.

I think the AV cables from NES will work but not the NES AC adapter. I know that N64 and Gamecube AV cables will also work.

Both will work dude, no worries! I use just the one set for both consoles (NES & SNES UK PAL)

Thanks for the help guys. That's a relief to know.

I would not suggest using the NES AC adapter. It is listed at 1.3A AC, whereas SNES is 850mA DC.
I understand those figures are very in-compatible.
I would strongly suggest buying an official SNS-002 adapter from ebay.
The NES used a normal AV cable, but the SNES used the same cable as N64 and GC.

So, you say those figures are incompatible and yet HisDudeness says they both work for his NES and SNES? I'm confused...

I have a PAL version of the console btw, just in case that has any effect on this.

Can't say it wouldn't work, but for the long term I'm not sure. I guess my opinion is better safe than sorry.

Well thanks for your input. For now, I'm gonna wait until I hear a bit more on the subject before trying to do anything

Do NOT use the NES adapter on the SNES. The NES adapter is AC and the SNES is DC. And the NES used standard RCA inputs on both ends whereas the SNES has the proprietary end that connects to the SNES, N64, and Gamecube and plugs into your TV using the standard RCA inputs. So no on both accounts.
