Topic: Puzzle League/ Panel de Pon now bare boned?

A few years back I bought Puzzle League Express on the DSI shop and did no research on it, but recently I got Dr.Mario and Puzzle League which is a GBA game and did a little research on it, in Japan it's Dr.Mario and Panel de Pon, I did some more research and Panel de Pon once had a story when it first came out on SNES about fairies and stuff, we in the west got the game but it was re-skinned with Mario characters and no story in it if I'm correct. Apparently the GBA version and newer versions don't have any story or characters, I don't like this and I don't like the fact that Panel de Pon was exclusive to Japan (that lipstick flower in brawl makes since now) while we got the Mario themed game and they also got the Mario themed game as well, but on the bright side we both got a Pokemon themed one on N64 and Yoshi themed one on GBC.

Not quite sure where this thread is going but I remember playing Tetris Attack years ago on the SNES. Its still one of my favorite puzzle games.

BTW you can add another note to your research. It's because of Nintendo using the Tetris name on the Tetris Attack (as you mention which is a Panel de Pon game) that strained the relation between Nintendo and the license holders of Tetris,

I know that but what I'm saying that what was once a fun puzzle game now lacks things that it once had, I would like to experience the story even if there is not much to experience or at least give us some eye candy for the newer games seem boring.
(on another note since I said candy did you hear that the creators or Candy Crush Saga wants to copyright the word "candy")
