Topic: PS2 Recommendations

I'm working on getting a PS2 and I know basically nothing about what good games are on it. So what are some good games for it?

Well IMO the PS2 is the second best system right behind the SNES. What type of games are you into?

I'm willing to try anything really. I love platformers, RPGs, some shooters, stuff like that.

If you like RPG's try the Suikoden games though you may want to nab Suikoden I and II on the PS1 first.

The Starwars Battlefront games are good especially if you like Starwars and first/third person shooters.

Another one is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City which IMO is the best in the series if you like those games.

Shawdows of Collosus

Platformers: The Ratchet and Clank games, especially Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. They have a lot of shooting too.
RPGs: I'm not a huge RPG fan, but Persona 4 is probably one of the greatest games I've ever played. Just be prepared to devote 70+ hours to it.
Shooters: Can't go wrong with Gradius V.

Shadow of the Colossus. It's one of the greatest entertainment experiences ever created. It's artistic, beautiful, haunting, but most importantly, fun.

OT: Burnout 3. It will be one of the greatest games you will ever play. Ever.

Try Kingdom Hearts series, it's awesome!! Final Fantasy X is great, too.

Forbidden? The pics work fine here :-/ (ps it's kingdom hearts, nightmare before christmas:oogies revenge, and the jak and daxter series)

...that's all my brain's got at the moment. I'll try to pick my top 10 later and go into more detail. There's soooooooooooo many good games on the PS2, it's hard not to put down a rediculously large (but unhelpful) list.

The first .hack series is good.

Indeed. Burnout 3 is still ridiculously intense--I like it much better than Paradise, to be honest.
